Just Curious - Dressing for Disney

For our recent trip we did a little of both. I bought the girls matching princess shirts for PSB, white tshirts with the castle and the characters on it etc.
But I tried to match us up. FOr Chef Mickey's we all wore some combo of red, gray, white and Mickey. One day DD (7) wore a blue Tink shirt, DD (3) wore a blue polo dress, DH and I wore blue. WE had hawaiian print stuff for O'hanas. For DD's and I wore pink shirts and green printed shorts, DH wore a green shirt and khakis. It really made our pictures look more "we're actually here together" to me. But DH will not wear character clothes at all. No Mickey, Goofy, Stitch, nothing. So its solid colors for him. It was also much easier to keep track of everyone since I bought the clothes, packed the clothes, decided what clothes on what day to what event....now DH had no clue but I had it memorized!! I always but the kids vacation clothes/summer clothes new or form the consignment store. They stay with my mom and play outside during the summer all day weather permitting, so they have play clothes for there, so there good ones don't get stained before we go.

I have never been a 'matcher.' However, after reading the DIS, I went on DisneyShopping and bought matching shirts for our gang going in Sept/Oct this year. I really thought my DD15 and her friend, also age 15, would balk about it. But no! My DD tried on the shirt I got her and like the size of DS9's shirt better . .. you know how teen girls are . .. can't be baggy or too big! I'm gonna exchange for the smaller size. So, I was pleasantly surprised at her enthusiasm and her willingness to go with the flow!

Of course, I did get some, "Mom you are nuts!" But hey, I knew that!
