I see several “the official xxx resort thread”.

What is the standing? Is it blessed by the powers at Disboards, or is it self proclaimed?

Can anyone post an “official” thread??

Totally self proclaimed so people can find the important stuff in one place and there aren’t multiple threads for each resort. The idea is usually that they are collaborative and that the original poster helps to organize.

There is at least one resort thread that is becoming nothing about the resort itself and is lately more about other resorts. Does someone moderate those threads to keep them back on track and keep their "official" status?

Could poke the original poster (who may not read the thread often) or tag a moderator as not every thread has a moderator actively reading the thread.

I noticed this as well. I don't really mind when conversations veer off track. But it gets kind of confusing to see a bunch of photos from other places inside a resort-specific thread. I'll be skimming and think "oh, that food looks good" only to realize it's from some other resort.
