I was recently notified that my Vero resale had settlement closing.

How long until Disney has me in their records. My agent said wait a week and then call. I cant wait too long or I will mis banking deadline.

Can I discuss renting my points with member service reps? Am I correct that any points that I have, that were banked, cannot be transferred, but that I must make the reservations myself for the renter?

I had a resale close recently and called Member Services 10 days after notification of closing. I was in their system at that time. Based on the date listed on some other items I received, I think I could have called them successfully within just a couple days after getting that notice. Go ahead and try calling them Monday.

I bought a resale last year. And the selling agent gave me my contract number and member number. As soon as I had that, I called MS and was able to bank points.

I'd call MS as soon as you think they have the information of the sale. Your agent should be able to help you there.

Welcome Home....I tried to book a couple rooms for this summer at Vero, but they were booked when I got around to it. Just an indication of how nice the resort is. My wife really wants to try Vero. I will take her in the future. Our next trip is to OKW. Again, Welcome Home.

Welcome Home!

By the way, if you don't mind could you post the specifics of the contract? # of points, $ per point, etc.

I'm doin' some resale shoppin' and wanted to do a little comparison. :D

Resale was 150 points Vero, Dec use year. Had 150 points from 2001 and 150 2002 points available now. 67 per point. From Jaki at A Timeshare Broker

Also doing some shopping (mostly dreaming) if you don't mind, how were closing costs and any maintenance fees handled in your resale. Did the seller pay them, or did you pay them plus 67.00/pt.

Are you planning to rent out your points?? You asked if you should discuss renting your points with the service reps--the answer is no. They have nothing to do with renting out your extra points--you will want to post an ad on the rent/trade board for that. DVC kind of frowns on renting out points, although it's done all the time. If you have questions that pertain to you as an owner, then yes, a rep could answer them, but so can everyone on this board. The choice is your's.;)

It usually takes DVC about 3 working days once notified to get you in their system. The closing company usually sends things to DVC the day or or just after the closing happens. Just call MS and see if you're in yet.
