Just chose BWV 1 bedroom over Poly studio. Am I crazy?

Will I regret booking a 1-bedroom at BWV for 5 nights in Jan 2023?

Poly is our favorite for the relaxing and natural theming plus location.

I just wish they had 1 bedrooms!! We need the full kitchen and laundry and space for adults to relax while not in a darkened room after kiddo bedtime (they will be 6 and 2.5 when we go and I do a couple park days with them alone while hubby works, so park access that does not require stroller folding is a must). We wanted Beach Club but it was not available for our dates. GFV 1 bedroom looks amazing with the full dining area but just could not justify spending $2k more for 5 nights.

Regret? No Chance! We love Poly too(proud poly DVC owners lol) but given the chance between them I would absolutely take the extra space and we don't even have kids!

Also, you are going during festival of the arts so I'd argue that being near Epcot is more beneficial than being near MK due to the popularity of the festival. Pair that with the seemingly new most popular park HS also being in walking range and you've got a winner!

You'll have an amazing trip

We spent a lot of time on the balcony at The Poly when our little girl was napping and that worked out for us. She is a heavy sleeper once she's out, though. I can definitely see the appeal of having a washer and dryer in your room.

I don't think you'll regret it at all. Our very first trip with DS1 was CL at Poly. It was lovely, but, those early nights sitting quietly in a dark room were not fun. Some of those nights, I ended up sitting on the bathroom floor with the light on just so I could read a book. That was the last time we stayed in a standard room as a family of 3 - it's been 1- and 2-bedroom villas ever since. Love the extra space, the kitchen and W/D. I also absolutely love the EP resorts for walking access to two parks and countless dining options - it makes touring with young children and a stroller so much easier. I will say, I prefer BCV over BWV due to location and super easy access to the BC QS and bus area, so you might want to keep looking for BCV. If not, I think you will enjoy BWV!

I think you made a great choice! The extra room and privacy in the 1 br is great. And as I have said on other threads, having a washer and dryer and a kitchen (even though we don't cook much in it) is great! We loved getting TS to go and eating in.

Given the nature and style of your trip, I think you made a great choice! We loved the 1-bedroom at Boardwalk. The room is "ok," but the location is awesome!

I think the BWV 1 br.s are lovely. I would request near lobby/elevators - there’s only one bank of elevators at BWV & w/ a stroller you’ll want to use them - some of the villas are a long walk to/from the elevators.

We usually choose bwv over Poly even though we love Poly.

the location of bwv wins over the nicer resort that Poly is….. and you now have a 1bd with laundry/kitchen!!

Our home is BWV, and are often there in 1 bedrooms. Enjoy!!! Location, location, location!
we're 1 bedroom folks. Love the Poly too, but agree they need more than studios/bungalows. Glad for the expansion.
I do think the BWV bathroom configuration is a little weird. but we still enjoy the space, laundry, kitchen, etc in the 1 bedroom. Have a great time!

My only annoyance with BWV is the lack of a quick service restaurant for breakfast. (There is a bakery on the boardwalk and a lounge on the inn side but it’s just not the same, and comes nowhere near Capt Cooks. But otherwise I love the property. It’s my home resort.)

I know this struggle! So we are doing a split stay next stay- Poly studio then onto BWV 1 br. Packing light so when we switch from Poly to BWV we can wash all our clothes! Disappointing that the studios at BWV sleep 5 and the 1 br only sleeps 4 technically.

Good Choice! Point costs aside, I'd always prefer a 1 bedroom for the living room, kitchen and washer/dryer over a studio

Stayed in a 1 BR at BWV in NOV. and thought the rooms needed a refurb, but the space was great! I totally agree about the bathroom situation being weird! Wished it had a second shower instead of the huge tub in the master bathroom.

Have you considered BLT? Still on the monorail and has 1BRs. I own at both BLT and BWV with BWV being my favorite. But with kids your age I would take BLT and the walk to MK over BWV any day of the week.

I thought about that but am so into the BWV theming! You're right about the rides being so much more appropriate for small kids tho...
