I know I shouldn't do this (but I also know that we all do!) but I've just been on VH's site to check the prices on the package that we booked last month.
We paid £3750 - it's now £5052!!!!!:scared1::scared1:

I just cannot understand why! I can only think that these companies are trying to recoup the money that they lost from the ash cloud in April. :confused3

So glad we booked when we did though.

We all do it. My package I booked, with flights, through Disney UK last May was not a BAD deal at the time but I knew I could have done better. By Christmas I was thinking of cancelling and rebooking DIY as the same holiday even with loss of deposit would have cost me a couple of hundres £££ less. It was the cost of the flights that made it more expensive. Shortly after that (I didn't cancel) flight prices went off the wall and suddenly it looked like I had a bargain. I still got a good deal all in all, save for a small window when I could have bettered it, but with some inconvenience. I was also engaged in a dispute with Disney at the time regarding some policies and T&Cs and it settled around this time so I ended up with very good deal indeed. It is impossible not to check. ;)

the daily mail online posted a chart showing the drop in holiday costs today due to the economy/ash cloud etc. most were drecrasing in cost by a few hundred pounds, Orlando was the only one increasing in price on the list!

i booked my trip a few months ago and a week or two later checked it (WHY!) and it had gone down in price £70 :mad:
its now about he same price again, but with indirect flights (my flight adds a few hundred)

Im terrible for always checking my flight prices after i have booked! We booked our flights just before Megan was born and then added her later. We paid £420pp fopr our flight, the same flight is now showing at £919pp!! Completely mad!

I just can't help checking either, I was so happy when our trip had gone up by £700. That is equivalent to our 14 day Disney passes.

Just checked our flights for next month, paid £1,170pp(total for 3 £3,510)
Now, Roundtrip: £2,675.50 avg/person (£8,026.50 total) - Expedia Special Fare

Dread to think how much if it wasn't a special fare, a rise of £4,516:scared1:

Always only check these kind of things if you can deal with whatever difference since having booked. Incl. if it got cheaper. ;) Not that flights getting cheaper is a thing that happens much since the ash-cloud. :rolleyes:

I recently changed my flight from eco to business. Those prices are nuts already. That same business ticket was about €1.000,- cheaper at the time of booking my eco ticket. "Thank you" UA for taking over our beloved CO. :headache: (CO prices for business have been priced out of the market to favor UA). About an hour after I needed some info, which at that point I could find easiest by pricing it out again. Sure enough; price is up another €850,- since I booked. Turns out I got the last discounted business fare on the way over. Smart move not waiting any longer. :rotfl:
