a 2 brdm @ OKW for Feb 15th - Feb 20th...I made the ressie for a so called frend of mine...She had been bad mouthing me & I confronted her this afternoon. She didn't deny it. So I got on the phone & cancelled her ressie. Thankfully my points won't go into holding. I'm glad it happened today & not later. The whole thing was she wanted me to add 3 more nights because it was cheaper for her to leave on a Tuesday than on Saturday. I told her too bad, pay cash for another hotel. The nerve of some people, I tell ya....
Anyway, I hope someones waitlist comes through now....So everyone waitlisted for this week go and check your ressies......

You were lucky this didn't happen two days from now. Your points would be in holding.

Wasn't this "friend" also an employee of your family's company. Sounds like the makings of a lifelong feud. If I recall the discussion a few months ago about this, it was someone who'd never gone on vacation but was making what seemed to me to be unreasonable demands. Sorry it ended this way but seemed predictable from the last thread. I agree you're lucky you didn't end up with holding account points.

Also, sorry to hear of this unfortunate event and glad your points did not go into holding.

Unfortunately most people just don't have a clue when it comes to DVC.

Funny thing is my husband is one of them. If anything should ever happen to me he will be in a sad shape in regards to the DVC. He would be one of those people you guys post about.

He has no idea about room sizes, use years, banking and borrowing. He couldn't tell you the rules about pool hoping or how to get a discount on tickets. He's a keeper though because he would rather go to WDW than anywhere else.

Thanks for pointing this out Dean, as this made me go and find her original post. The "friend's" husband works for their company. In the original thread you even mentioned that you thought this wouldn't be the end of it and more issues were going to popup. Well spotted!!

was this a free 2 bedromm on you and she wanted you to add more days for free?

You have to tell us what she said when she found out???

Im sorry but this sounds like an unfortunate event for all parties involved :confused3

It happens.... we gave some points to a relative for a later honeymoon getaway, while explaining the rules of making reservations. Once we got to a certain date we banked the points and sent them a check for $100 instead.

It's somewhat predictable in this situation. Given we only have one side, but it seems pretty clear as to the situation. I'm sure the other party feels they are the one in the right and are the one harmed and are likely telling everyone they can find of that version. Unfortunately the husbands are likely to be the ones caught in the middle.

You guys have such a great memory :rotfl2: Yes, this is the same person who we gave 5 nights to for her b-day. Then she got ticked off with me because I wouldn't extend her stay 3 more nights. Due to airfare was cheaper for her to leave on a Tuesday instead of Saturday. She had been complaining for months about having to rent a car to drive to her MIL's house & her grown daughters didn't wanna stay there.
She just so happened to be in the neighborhood the other day & stopped by. I flat out asked her if she was bad mouthing me to my friends. I had to pick her jaw up off the floor. She was stuttering so bad I almost laughed. She was no sooner out the door when I got on the phone & cancelled the ressie. Do I feel guilty for it? OOOOOO Heck No....Then on top of this DH says tonite that I shouldn't have cancelled the ressie we could have gone :rotfl2:
I told him I cancelled when I did because I didn't want the points going into holding....He looked at me as if i had two heads....He's clueless when it comes to DVC. He just makes the payments & I do the planning...:lmao::lmao:

DH has informed me tonite that he has to lay her hubby off. He was getting alot of complaints about him from customers & missed a job entirely the other day. DH said he wanted to do this months ago but kept giving him another chance & didn't want to do it before the holidays.

This just keeps getting better and better, unfortunately. I don't envy your position or your husbands. Hopefully they don't get the news by way of this thread before the proper business discussions can take place. Unfortunately it's predictable for the blame to be laid at your feet by your former friend for loss of the vacation AND the lay off. I wish you luck with this mess.
