You did the right thing.
I have not done pediatric medicine since med school,(adult cardiologist) but, if your pediatrician and pulmonolgist recommended staying home, then you did what any self-respecting parent should do, put your children first--no one else will.
If I remember correctly, a premmie is defined as a baby born before 35 weeks gestation, so a 36 or 37 weeker is considered to have arrived early, but not considered pre-mature--any pediatricians out there, feel free to correct me.
Anyway, you can sleep well at night knowing you did what was best for your child--the world needs more parents like you.
And you can start planning for a trip next year!
