Just cancelled 3 AKV value studios for BWV for 2/18/12 to 2/24/12...hoping someone here can grab them up!!!

I am also hoping that I will be happy at BWV as it was more points. We are taking my niece for her HS graduation, her mother, my other SIL and her family and possibly my FIL. My MIL just passed away so we are really hoping he will want to join us. I switched resorts b/c I am hoping they will like the food options better at BWV than at AKV.

Any thoughts on BWV vs. AKV???? I would be happy at either one, but I think the more exotic food may not be good for the in-laws.

Not a fan of BWV..stayed there only once and will not return....bad attitude CMs ( many of them, not just one) and just didn't like the atmosphere..sorry. Lots of food options, though between BW area, Swan/Dolphin and BC/YC all within short walk(as is IG and epcot). Just stayed at AKLV last xmas for the first time and loved it...will definitely return. Have been member since 1994 at OKW and love BCV also....

Oh no!!!

I know that my family will love AKV (We own there) but not so sure of the extended family which is why I opted to move them. They aren't huge Disney fans, but we wanted to make the offer for my niece to go and they actually all said yes. So I am hoping that with the food options at Epcot, BW and BC they will be ok with it. I guess I can say that I tried it once right??? WE just stayed at BCV and the CM's there were wonderful. Hopefully BW has recruited new CM's.

BWV's is our "home" resort but I've stayed at OKW, AKV at Kidani and Jambo. I never had any problems with CM's at any of the 4 resorts. In fact, I'm a heavy person and at BWV's someone sat on the side of me and gave me a business card and a piece of paper which was a weight loss business they were into and they got up and walked away. I read it and got angry and showed it to a CM who quickly called the manager and as quick as can be, there was a swarm of CM's looking for this person, whom they found and brought into an office and assured me they took care of the "problem"... Of these resorts, I never had a problem with BWV, OKW or Jambo on cleanliness but I did at Kidani...TWICE!!!

The benefits of BWV's or BCV are the distance between them and EPCOT and The Studios! It's a quick walk or a quick boat ride...The fact that you don't need to wait for the bus for these parks is a plus! I love to go to the Boardwalk Bakery for breakfast and/or lunch and a quick walk to BCV is a great stop for lunch... Also, there are some great restaurants along the Boardwalk. I don't think you'll be disappointed even though it is extra points. Have fun!

We are staying at BWV in just a few weeks. We stayed there 2 years ago and enjoyed it. We also liked the BCV location as well.

Matter of fact, we realized that owning in that area was a good thing and are in the process of buying there. My DD18 is excited as she loves being able to just walk around the boardwalk as well as we like all the options for meals, given the quick and easy access to Epcot.

We have stayed at all the DVC resorts. My mother (83) prefers staying at BWV or BCV because of the short walks to parks and also that she can take the boats to either HS or Epcot. She does not really like to board the busses because of the steps.

We have always had very good service at BWV. When she is coming along, I always ask for rooms close to the elevators.

Same thing with my parents who are almost 80, either BCV or BWV. Dad loves to walk over to Morroco and watch the belly dancer! Mom says that when he stops eying women, we can bury him! They don't like AKV because they say "It's way out there". Me, I LOVE the AKV value studios-2 months and a few days til I'm in one.

Epcot is a huge factor as to why I switched for the family. WE are huge animal lovers, but not everyone in the party is. I also was afraid of the exotic food for the kids and FIL. BW has so many more dining options and such a close proximity to Epcot so that was part of my draw. I think my niece (almost 18) and my nephew (12) will really like the atmosphere there too. My niece will like the festivities of the BW and being close to HS and Epcot. I will save AKV for my family so we can enjoy the peace, quiet, relaxation and animals!!!!

Thanks for the reassurance. I hate to use more points but graduation only happens once ;)

I love AKV but after a while the food options get to me. So if someone doesn't like Indian spices to start with it's probably best that you switched resorts. I think BWV is a good choice because of the restaurants on the Boardwalk, BC and the Swan and Dolphin, plus all the restaurants at DHS and Epcot.

We have been very happy with our BWV stays. The only problem we've ever had, is that sometimes our villa has not been ready until after 4, actually after 6! However, many times we've been in our room there before 2, so it averages out fine for us.

We hadn't always watched the night entertainment along the BW, but we've begun to appreciate the fun and free entertainment as we relax more now. Even I have walked back to the villa from Epcot without undo trouble. Walking is getting harder for me.

We have encountered numerous helpful CMs at BWV. We've had problems fixed in a timely fashion. We've had villas near the elevators on the SV side and were not bothered by noise from the luggage people, but the view there aren't so great, but they were convenient. I've had a pv by the Village Green and that was just about perfect. I've had SV down a bit, away from the elevators but with wonderful views.

Have a great time!

We also love BW! You can't beat the location- I think everyone will be very happy.

We stayed at BWV for our honeymoon and it's been in our hearts ever since! We've been back there once since then and would love another visit in the future. I hope you enjoy it!

Every family is different but this Oct. will be our 3rd big family trip. The first was at BWV, last one at OKW. I tried to get the family to consider a new option for this year but they all wanted BWV again. I think it offers lots of options for eating, for activities, and for watching people and boats at the resort (a favorite thing for DH to do). I hope your family loves it as much as my family does!

Thank you everyone!!!
I am even hoping that it makes the "non-Disney" lovers in the group change their minds a little bit. There is so much to do there that I don't think they will be bored even if they don't go to the parks!

Now I just have to wait:sad1:
