OOPS! I meant 11 - 23.

I learned about the insect control spraying at the Fort, and spray truck, pop-up, and I is not a good combination. We were able to get some reservations at another resort. :cool1:

If it's not gone yet, my ressie is out there.

Thanks for letting everyone know, is there something about the bug control that you know, that we should know ?:listen:

Yea, they heard about the grand gathering! Spraying won't help!:rotfl2:

That's to bad that you decided not to go and it was very nice to offer your reservation to others. :thumbsup2

Disney, along with just about every community in at least So. Florida, has a Mosquito control program where a truck goes around with a smoker/fogger to control mosquitos. It blows smoke/fog into the air. I even have my own mosquito fogger I keep in my trailer in case I have to do my own control.

Apparently, the fog trucks come around very early every morning. I'm incredibly sensitive to pesticides. We don't have AC in the pup, so the windows would be open. It's just not a good way for me to start my day.

The fogging is something that I didn't even consider until I was searching for information on what the bug situation is like.

Our community does it about once a month. If the windows happen to be open when they come around, I end up with a 24 hour reaction. Then again, I get a reaction just by walking through certain sections of Wal-Mart and the hardware store. I'm just a wimp that way.

Well, sorry to hear that. I've got allergies but not that sensitive. Allergies suck. Tropic Palms is nice and not that far if that is where you made the other ressies.

Thank you for your sympathy and suggestion.

There must have been extra pixie dust in the air this morning, because I was able to get reservations for all 12 nights on site. :cool1: We did have to split the nights between 3 resorts starting at Port Orleans Riverside and ending in a magically appearing 3 nights at the GF in a garden view room, with 2 nights of a garden wing room at the Contemporary sandwiched in.

Wow! I thought you meant you changed campground resorts. All of the resorts you are staying are very nice. A bit morer moola than the campground but nice. Our favorite is the Animal Kingdom Lodge if not staying at the Fort.

We had our hearts set on staying on site. With 5 in our family, it narrows down our choices pretty quickly for the resort hotels. We expect this to be our only WDW trip, and dug into the emergency fund accordingly. After all, it was an emergency ;)

AK looks like a great place to stay. It would be nice to get the early morning and evening views of the animals.

I understand about the bug spraying. I had my first bad reaction to bug spray when I was real young. My eyes swelled up and itched really bad. I, too, get reactions just walking through that section of Wal-Mart. I have allergies to pretty much everything in the world----every tree, every grass, fruit, vegetables (I can eat them cooked, just not raw), mold, dust, pollen, cats and every nut. I can eat peanuts, though, go figure. When we went to the Fort in April, my allergies got worse than here in NC. My youngest son's got bad, my husband (who never gets them) had them, and my 16 yr old son's got worse. The only person not affected was our 12 yr old daughter. I'm glad you looked into when they were going to spray. That would have made for a potentiall bad situation for you. Nice of you to offer your site to someone else. It is really hard to find a hotel room (that is not expensive) for a family of 5. We have always gone with all of our kids, making our family a family of 6. This trip our oldest is in college and could not come with us. We've always stayed off-site in what is now the Nickelodeon Suites. It used to cost us $99 a night. Now I can't afford their prices.
