Just called and got a 40% code!

I called Disney Last night to see if there were any codes attached to my name for my Disneymoon and magically there was a 40% code that was not there 10 days ago. (no mail or email yet) So I upgraded from ASMu to AKL Savannah view and the cast member knew I was talking to knew everything about AKL and gave us his favorite room at the resort on the east side, 3rd floor near the fire escape stairs where he said is the best view of the Savannah. Another magical moment! I have never stayed in a deluxe so this will be amazing! The total for 2 people for 8 nights with DxDDP and 9dayMYW Hopper and WP is only 3300! I can not believe it! It is 1300 more than the original booking of 8 nights at ASMu with the reg DDP but worth it ! I am so excited! My advice if you don't get a code the first time keep calling and one will appear!

How would the agent know which room you will get? they only book you into a room category (Savannah View). they shouldn't have the ability to put you into a certain room location, only REQUEST it.

What a surprise. I just called to find out if we had a code attached to our name, and there's nothing. Shocker!

I can see why. We haven't earned it yet. Maybe after we cross the million dollars spent plateau, they'll throw us a bone.

But the short explanation is this: Disney randomly (we think) selects people who receive a discount from the price of their rooms. The most coveted one is the 40% off PIN.

No one is really sure how they select the lucky recipients. Some people think that ording the trip planning DVD &/or pricing a variety of resorts (including a deluxe or two) may tip the odds in your favor.

Did you have to add DxDDP and Hopper in order to use the code? Or could it have been room only? I had a code but the CM said I'd have to add the DDP and Tickets. Just curious

No I have not told DF of the the upgrade. I handle all the money in the house so I am keeping it a secret until we land in Disney. My little surprise to him!

The Code was for the room only. And I already had DxDDP and the Hopper tickets. The cast member was wicked nice and knew it was my honeymoon so I think there was some Disney magic to the code magically appearing!

I just don't want you to get your hopes up....so I am repeating that as far as I have EVER heard, the reservations agents don't book you into a specific room. They can note that you REQUEST a certain location, but there is absolutely no guarantee.

The CM I was refering to was on the club level & which I am staying. The CM switch me over to the person deciding on which room etc put a note on my reservation. She said I would get it. And I do realize it is a request. I was just telling the OP what to request & what I was told by CM on Club Level but I didn't put club level in my post as I didn't feel it was necessary. And I don't think I refer that the CM making your booking has the ability to assign a room but they know at least the ones I have gotten know the good floors & rooms to recommend.

Question...When you call to see if you have discount connected to your name, are you talking about people with the disney visa phone #? Or are you just calling the regular WDW # and giving them your name?

Congratulations! I hope you have a wonderful time! I was curious as well about which phone number you called. I have an 800 number to Disney but am not sure if it goes to the same place as the 407 w disney number.

I decided to call to see if I could get one and wah lah they had me down for a 40% disc and it was available for the Wilderness Lodge. The CM also told me to be watching for the free dining that they were expecting it to be announced in April. Im so so excited!! I love to save money so that I can spend it!!!!
