We just bought into dvc and were wondering what the wl villa studios are like. Can you ask for certain view, room,etc.? Where are the villas located in accordance to the lodge. I can't tell on the pics. How far to the main pool?

The studios are lovely, we were in one in December. If you stand with your back to the lake, the lodge is on the right, and the villas are on the left. They have the reddish brown roof, as opposed to the green roof.

going nov.1 and have been to disney many times (11). So we're alittle nervous about having fewer choices, condition of rooms, way you're treated(at resorts, wonderfully)....things disney can'y answer honestly. I'm excited, husband leary but willing and the kids (13 and 11) are thrilled that they feel they'll now live there!

We (DW and I) are long-time WDWers, first-time DVCers (Member Homecoming at SSR in May!), but I can reassure you - don't worry. DVC resorts are still 'Disney' - pixie dust and all.

From all my research, regarding room locations, views, etc. - it's best if you can 'unclench' a little (which is easier said than done for me). While you can request a view (I think), it all depends on what's available when you check in. Besides, all the DVC resort rooms are Deluxe-level accomodations.

Sounds like the kids have the right idea - you're living at Disney World now!

Yes, you can request a certain view, but of course, nothing is guaranteed. If it is available to you when you chack in you have a very good chance of getting your request met. I do not suggest requesting a specific room though. That does not help the room assigners know what it is exactly you are looking for beyond that room, so you may get nothing that you want if that room is unavailable. I have gotten our request met for location/view, and I have not gotten them met. I will say though; we have not gotten a view that we hated yet, so I guess that is good enough for us Most views from most villas are quite nice. There are only a few that I would say are not so good, so your chances are good that you will get an acceptable view. Just go w/an open mind and don't have your heart set on a certain view; because, that makes you feel really disappointed if you don't get it. I go hopeful that I get a certain view, but not set on it. This way we aren't too disappointed if we don't get it. So far it has worked well for us We have enjoyed many happy visits to all of the DVC resorts except VERO, but we will head there sometime too!

I assume you bought into SSR. With kids the age of yours, you will very soon be wanting a 2 bedroom! When those kids get to be teens, they need that extra bathroom and extra beds.
