Just bought BLT - New DVC Owner

We just bought into BLT and we are new to DVC. My estimated closing date is the 15th. My 11 month window opens for when we want to book is the 4th. Will they let me make a reservation or will I have to wait until after the 15th? Thanks and I am sure I will have lots more questions.

You do not have to wait for closing to make a reservation when you buy directly from Disney. You can call MS now and get your member number if you don't already have it as well as your pin so that you can access the Members' Website.

I believe Member Services is closed on July 4th, though.

Thanks for the welcome. I have my number and have already got setup on the website. I am guessing I will need to bank this years points before I make my reservations for next year. I was given Feb UY and do not plan on traveling anymore this year. Can you make reservations online or just by phone?

Welcome Home!!! If you were given Feb 2009 points and do not plan to travel until 2010, you definitely need to bank those points at least 4 months prior to February 1st, which is the end of September. Then when you travel next year, you'll have two years' worth of points to use! Awesome!!! (Or, you can use your Feb 09 points for your 2010 vacation and bank the Feb 10 points for another trip!)

Congrats!!! We just bought AKV and haven't closed yet, but I called Member Services yesterday and they banked my points into next year for me even though I haven't closed.

Can you make reservations online or just by phone?

First Welcome Home!
You can make the reservations online, but it's basically an e-mail to the CMs to make the reservation. You'll get a confirmation in a couple of days. If you are looking for something in high demand (or REALLY want to make sure you have it), then call directly. My first reservation I did online, the second via phone and it didn't take much longer. When you call, you also have options (like I really need a studio, but since none are available, I'll take a 1 BR and waitlist for the studio.) Not sure you can do that with the online way.
