I got a call today for a smaller OKW contract and we bought it! :cheer2:

Now, it has 2005s points banked, so on Sep. 1st I will have two years worth of points coming to me. What does that mean? Those 2005 will have to be used by Aug. 31 of 2007 right?

2006s 50 points I can borrow to use now right, or not? I have no reason to really, so most likely won't, but just curious if I can with them.

The use year is Sep. Today though, I am in the 2005 year right?? Even though most of the use year is in 2006?

Sorry for asking you guys, but I didn't have a lot of time on the phone with the salesman, and don't want to bother him right now.

Oh and one more. Even though the points aren't available until September 1, does that mean I can't even book them until then? Or is it just that you can't use them until after that date? We are going in December and will need 60 of them, can I book that at the 7 month mark (May)?

Since you have so many questions, Jason will be giving you a call to clear them up for you. It's so easy to forget to ask all this when you get that call that the points you wanted have come in. Congratulations!!!!

We really do appreciate your doing business with us!

Sincerely,
Tom :sunny:

CONGRATULATIONS & WELCOME HOME! Glad to have you as a neighbor!

Yes, you can borrow 2006 points now, but those 2005 points that have been banked can only be used in your 2006 use year.

11 month booking has nothing to do with what points are in your account at the time you call...it has to do with what will be in your account at the time of the trip. For example: you want to take a Dec. 2006 trip and check in Dec. 15 and out December 27. You could make that reservation TODAY...11 months from the date of check out. Obviously, your are not yet in your 2006 use year, but your 2006 points and your banked 2005 points WILL BE in that account at the time of the trip, and that is how DVC tracks them.

Are you waiting for ROFR or have you bought it? I'm confused.

Congratulations on your decision to buy!

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse! I am waiting, so shouldn't have jumped the gun I guess huh? :goodvibes

We have officially sent a deposit and contract in though!

Congratulations and best of luck passing ROFR! My DH and I are at OKW for the first time ever right now and we just love it here. The villas are beautiful.

CONGRATULATIONS & WELCOME HOME! We also love to stay at OKW. We bought at BWV also love it there especially at F&W time.

Good Luck and extra Pixie Dust pixiedust: :wizard: pixiedust:

Last month, I had 50 point contract that was just about a sure thing... but Disney gobbled it right up. :faint: I was told recently, though, that Disney may not be as aggressive with smaller contracts. Hoping better for you. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I am not worried at all. If it doesn't happen, it wasn't meant to be. 60 points is more ideal for us anyway, truth be told, but those aren't as popular, so 50 will do. Seems OKW isn't as much of a target as some of the others...I hope so!

Why does Disney buy them like that? Are they turning around and selling them for a higher price?

My contract was for SSR at a price that made it clear their decision wasn't for their profit of reselling this contract. I don't know why. :confused3

Some guesses are that the discounts you can get as a DVC member are greater than the cost of a small contract, administrative costs for lots of small contracts is a problem, or they can get suckers like me  to buy a larger contract directly from them.
