Bought an AP yesterday and today I see the new changes. What does this mean for this AP purchased yesterday?? TIA

I am in the same boat, and was going to post my findings after calling them for clarification today...

You gat what you paid for. Disney has a long history of honoring old tickets. These changes aren't just changes to the features of the pass, but rather, they introduced a completely different ticket and discontinued the old one.

Also recently purchased the DVC AP online and haven't activated the passes just yet. Wondering if I will be allowed to upgrade to the DVC Gold Pass. The extra $20 + tax will be worth it for the Photo Pass perk. The blackout for Christmas and Easter won't impact us as we don't go during those periods. Thinking I might only have to upgrade mine since my DH is part of my MDE account.

Not at all thrilled about the $50 increase for the TiW. New break even of about $750 makes the TiW a lot less likely to be of value for a couple who only visit 10-14 nights per year. Thinking maybe I better start investigating the restaurants that offer AP & DVC discounts or we'll be eating a lot more in the room. :teeth:

we're in the same boat - bought vouchers using the DVC discount a few months ago and plan on activating them next month. We already bought memory maker separately. So I need to figure out:
A) what kind of pass will I get when we activate the AP vouchers? i.e. gold vs platinum?
B) will it include memory maker or not?

Alrighty everyone, I have some basic answers. I'll post these points in the other thread I started too as I promised ;).

-Unactivated AP vouchers will retain the same features as when purchased; i.e., no blackouts. This is 100% for sure. They will, however, be slotted into one of the new tiers.
-Activated AP vouchers are the same parameters as when you purchased them, so no Photopass attached.
-The "may" in the T&C of the new passes is a lie. It's not that you "may" have to switch to one of their new passes upon wanting to renew, but "must". So, if you are booked after December 17th of this year and after December 19th of 2016 and have any ADRs booked, you will likely need to cough up an additional $100 per person for the Platinum pass.
-No ticket bridging specials are available (I didn't think so, but asked anyway).

I'm sorry, but I didn't ask about changing previously purchased and unactivated passes to a new kind, since none of them work for our needs.

Thanks for the info!!!

I changed my post above to reflect that in fact, unactivated vouchers will be activated as Platinum or Platinum Plus. I guess even the supervisors didn't know what the heck was going on yesterday!!!

As per my most recent contact with Ticketing today, you will receive a Platinum Pass when you activate your DVC AP voucher and it will include Photopass. They will refund your MM :).

thanks!

Do you have a sense of if I should do it now over the phone vs just waiting until next month? I kept trying to today but hold times for ticketing were quoted at over 45 minutes and I just don't have the time.

I think that there is enough of a precedent for them to refund at whatever point you request it...that being said, maybe things will calm down by the end of this week and you can get a hold of someon sooner :)!

Ok now I'm pissed.
On Sept 25th my 60 day window opened. I tried to buy my DVC AP. Nobody could process my Disney Vacation Account.
Not DVC, reg ticketing etc.
So CM says buy a 5 day park hopper which I will need for my Thanksgiving trip and just upgrade while you are there.

So now what I am screwed right. Unfortunately I am limited to peak times with school.
Do you think there is any way to handle this upgrade to old pricing.....do they keep a record of transactions and why?
There should be a record of me getting shuffled to various departments trying to buy stupid DVC AP with my disney account.
Thanks
Kerri

My AP expired in August and I did buy the renewal but it is a voucher, do I need to go to guest services to activate it and will that affect my pass? Since technically it isn't a new AP? I am thinking mine wont be changed but now I am second guessing myself.
