I just received a call from my guide and my wait list request for 100 points at the BW came through. Being a DVC junkie, I jumped at the opportunity. The current point price is $80 but they gave me until tomorrow(6/7) to purchase at the $75 rate. Also the MB incentive at the BW is $5 per point which I did not elect to use.
My use year is December and my purchase came with a full allotment of Dec-91 points. They even allowed me to retract a borowing transaction for an upcoming vacation to allow me to use these new points.
The VB incentive is $15 per point and they would have allowed me to buy those points at $75 per point resulting in a final cost of $60 per point. Since Disney does not charge closing, In my opinion the Disney offer is better then any current resale option for VB. I bought an add on thru the Timeshare store advertised on this site earlier this year and had a great experience with that group of people. However, with the full allotment of points and no closing costs Disney is very competitive right now with the secondary market.
The current financing for Disney is 8 1/2 percent if you put down 50 % and pay off in one year. All other options are 11 1/2 %.
Will me addiction never be satisfied?

Just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! How long were you on the waitlist for? We were able to add on to our September use year earlier this year also!

RWishbone,

Congratulations!

I am so jealous. We have been waitlisted for a few months now for an add-on at BWV for the March use year. I recently called my guide to find out where we are on the list, and she said that there are approximately 30 people ahead of us. So it looks like we will be waiting quite a while.

Congratulations on your add-on! Those BWV add-ons of smaller numbers of points are hard to come by. I'm glad for you!

Hmmm. I'm also on the wait list for BWV add-on with December use year. Not in a real big hurry because I just did a BCV add-on. But maybe I'll call my guide and see where I'm at on the list. I'd be thrilled to get my pts. and still do so for the $75 limit instead of $80. Hard to believe that I bought my first pts. just two years ago for $67. If I'm doing my Math right, points have gone up roughly 20% in two years' time. Kinda steep, but that's apparently what the market will bear.

Anyway, congratulations again! :)

Hi again - I think that I was on the waitlist for approximately one year but I am not certain. I remember reading about the waitlist on these Boards. At that time I was not ready to buy but put my name on just in case. As it worked out I am glad that I did...Rich
