Just booked today- was told to wait to book dining

I am so happy because I was able to get a 1BR concierge at AKV for my first seven days (I already had that first day booked since I had enough AKV points left to get one room- and I got the rest of that week using my BLT points today.) I need eight nights, so I will call back tomorrow to try to get that last night.

I was going to book 3 nights DXDDP and then the rest of the trip as QSDP. The CM told me to that she couldn't book it for me yet as the part (segment) with the QSDP was more than 7 months out and that I would need to call back to add the QSDP later, which means they will have to rebook it. Should I be worried about losing my reservation- are supervisors still doing it to make sure that doesn't happen?

You can add a dining plan at any time. I would not worry. They prob do not want to do it too far out because it gets confusing for them. As long as your rooms are all set should not be am issue

It's a possibility. I was told yesterday that MS still can not hold inventory when they do a rebook. This was an issue for us last December when we lost our AKV Concierge reservation due to MS.

If the CM splits your 7 night reservation into separate segments of 3 and 4 nights right from the start, there is no issue adding the dining plan later.

If it wasn't split at the time of booking, I have been told that there is "some risk" of losing days when the modifications are made later. That risk would seem to be extremely low, IMO. Just don't get too chatty with the CM while he/she is trying to work.
