I just booked August 21st - August 28th at Pop Century!!
CSR is our favorite, but we saved mucho dinero staying at Pop this time.

I am curious which section of pop people like the most. If you have stayed at pop, what section were you in and did you like it?

Thanks for any help! I am so excited! :goodvibes

You will love POP, we had a great time there last summer. We stayed in 50's and loved it, close to everything and not preferred with the extra cost. The second choice would be the 70's, looked fun and is just as close as the 50's to everything and a little closer to the Main pool. If we were going back to POP this year we would have requested 70's. I wouldn't want 80's or especially 90's, it was such a long walk from everything.

I stayed in the 80's section in Feb. and didn't think the walks were too bad. It was a good walk to the main pool, but the laptop pool was right by our building. It wasn't bad at all to get to the buses or the food court if you cut through the parking lot. :)

We just returned from POP on Saturday. We stayed in the 70s building on the top floor. We requested the top floor in order to insure a more quiet room. It was generally quiet and not far from the main pool. the 90s pool, or the food court. We could see the fireworks from MK and Epcot each evening.

Although the rooms are not elaborate, they were very clean, and the beds were comfortable. Maid service was excellent, and we left a tip of $1 per person each day. The maid often left the soap on our sink in mickeys made of a washcloth!

Overall, I couldn't have been happier with the place, and we saved a lot of money by choosing a value resort! We were rarely in the room anyway except to sleep.

Hope you have a great time.

My first stay on-site was in April - at Pop.. I was in the preferred building, second floor.. Nice and quiet - great location - go out through Classic Hall and hop on a bus..

If I had to pick ONE thing that I don't like about Pop it would be the parking situation.. I'm used to staying where there's parking at the door, so it seems like your car is a million miles away at the Pop.. Of course if you don't have a car, then it's not a problem! :teeth:

It's really a "fun" place!! :flower:

You'll love Pop! We stayed there last year and loved it. We had the preffered room, 60's building the one with Baloo and Mowgli, 2nd floor. My son loved the location because it was closest to the pool. At night you can see/hear/feel ( yes I said feel) Illuminations fireworks. It was awsome! The whole theme is cool. Take a walk around the whole resort to take in all the eras.
The CM's and lifeguards are really nice. The pools have beachballs for kids to play with and the pools were warm! The pool area also has the shower heads to rinse off the chlorine. The food was good. I especially liked the :worship: flutternutter sandwiches!! :earboy2: The only slight problem we had was that we had a room that had a connecting door. Every morning around 8am our neighbors ( we did not now them) would be up talking loud and we smelled their smoke from cigarettes. So I suggest you request a room without a connecting door, unless you need one of course!
I would post my pics, but I first have to learn how to do that. :)
Ok click on my name and click on see users wesbsite, the pics arent in order but you'll see some from PC.

:cool1: We will be staying at Pop for the 1st time next April. Can't Wait!! We are
requesting the 50's section because I love everything 50's-music, clothes etc. Hopefully will get it. 4th floor, view of fireworks. We shall see.

My family and I just returned from Disney on Tuesday and we stayed at the POP. It was first time ever going and it was great. You really do not want to stay int eh 80's building if you can help it. We were there in the back by the parking lot. It was a long walk to food court, buses, although the lap top pool was right outside it was quite a hike after walking all day in the park to get back to your room. The rooms were very nice and the food was pretty good. I do suggest buying the refillable cups for the food court. It will save you money in the long run.

I loved Pop Century! We stayed in the 50's section on the top floor. It was a bit of a hike to the parking lot, but really quick to the food court, main pool (and quiet Bowling pool) and the busses.

I was there last August and here are some pictures:

We were in the 60's and would advise against paying extra for this "preferred location"
We were right in front of the pool-bad idea unless you don't mind hearing people yelling and screaming while their swimming until midnight.
IMO most not all of the rooms in the 50's and 70's were closer to the food court and parking lots than the ones' in the 60's.

I will be there in 30 days for the first time and I can't wait. It almost don't matter what the rooms are like or how far we have to walk, we just need our vacation. I am into exercise so I am all about all the walking that I can do anyway so no big deal. Looking forward to it. Hope to see some of you down there. :cool1:  :Pinkbounc

30 day dance

we stayed in Pop 60's preferred, third floor, right building if coming out of main lobby with foodcourt/giftshop, in the section just past the elevators. I forgot what room numbers. great location! can't type much now but you picked a good hotel! We are staying there again August 13-19! Miss you by 2 days

My friend and I stayed in the 80's in early March/April. It was very fitting since we were both born in the 80's! We had a far room, but it was worth it...overlooking the lake! We had a great time at POP! :)

robinb - that is such a cute picture of you and your daughter in the hurricane. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks :). I think we were a tiny bit nuts as it was so windy! We were luckly because we were mostly protected since we were on the leeward side of the building. The rooms with which we shared a wall got the brunt of the storm.

We just got back from the POP on Monday and stayed in the 50's section, room 1372, 3rd floor facing the bowling pin pool. It was great but a bit noisy in the evenings so if you have little ones or want to go to sleep early and a bit of noise bothers you choose the other side. I thought it was great overlooking the pool and the resort was lovely. We've stayed in CSR, POR, Poly and POP and POP was soooo Disney. Have fun!
