I was hoping to wait about 2 weeks to do this ... I am going to have to fenagle a bit to pay some other things but a little voice in me told me to book my air today.

BWI to MCO - $89
MCO to BWI - $104

This is for late June.

I could have gotten an $89 coming home but it had a stop and I haven't flown in years (a little nervous about it) so I didnt' want that.

Was I wise to book today? We are going back in September so if they drop I can always re-book and use the credit then.

Or do you think I could have made things easier on myself and waited?

I hope this post makes sense. I was just really wanting to wait to see if I could get cheaper and not lay out as much right now but I sprang for the $857 for four RT tickets.

Did I do ok?

thanks

I think you were wise to book now for those fares, especially the $89 one. We fly BWI-MCO often throughout the year and I consider those to be *good* fares at this time. We used to get much better fares, but those days seem gone (at least for now). There also used to be DING! fares quite often, but now I rarely see them.

Keep watching though. If the fares do go down remember you can grab a lower fare and get SW credit for a future flight!

How do you know the OP booked SW, I was thinking it was AirTran. Though the OP never stated which airline.

I did book SW. Airtran was much higher. Maybe the other poster new it was SW because I mentioned a credit? Or does Airtran do this too?

Thanks! That is what I was thinking. I will continue to watch the fares.

Oh, honestly it never even occurred to me that she didn't book SW! We book SW so often and I see those $89 and $104 fares on their site all the time so I just concluded she had booked SW! I didn't notice that she didn't say.

AirTran also offers a credit on rate drops.

Interesting. We also very often see $89 and $104 rates on MCO flights from our home airport of DAY.

I too purchased the 89 from bwi to mco only one way.I'm hoping return flight is gonna go down some. Mary

I bought our flights for October a month ago. I got Airtran out of BWI because both flights were $80 and SW was $117 I think you did the right thing! BTW-what part of MD are you from?

I am just south of Baltimore in Howard County ... so we are close to being neighbors!
