Just booked our first trip to Vero!

Woohoo We are going to Vero May 5 -11 There will be 6 adults in our group. We need some suggestions for restaurants and bars offsite. We really love beach bars, so if there are any close by that would be awesome

Here now. Our first time. We ate at squid lips in Sebastian. Very good , beach style restaurant. It's out on a pier, good prices. Saw a dolphin, kids can feed catfish. A lot of fun

Not really a "beach atmosphere" place, but we really enjoyed Mo Bay in Sebastian. It's in a strip mall, but they have very good Jamacian food. The are also on restaurant.com so it is pretty inexpensive.

Thank you all for the suggestions! They sound great How soon can you make adrs for the restaurants at the resort? Do you have to make ressies like at WDW or can you wing it and just show up?

Another vote for Squid Lips. We made an ADR the day before the resort seafood buffet on Thursday.
The front desk recommended Orchid Island pizza. We did not care for it.

We went to Vero for 3 nights 2 or 3 years ago - beware that the entire town rolls up the carpets & shuts down by 9:00. We often try to make a full day of it at the beach & pool and don't go out to hunt for food until 8:00 and we had a HARD TIME finding places that were open. We passed on Capt. Hirams as I'd heard about some cleanliness problems there at the time. I guess it was Squid Lips that we went to on the water. It was OK. Nothing too memorable. The place that we REALLLLLY loved was an Italian place called Bella Napoli Ristorante. Small, family run. DELICIOUS and HUGE portions. Had leftovers for lunch the next day that were OH SO YUMMMMMY. Currently ranked at # 12 on Trip Advisor.

The other place we ate at that seemed to be full of locals that was pretty good was Bobby's Restaurant & Lounge. It was on the list we got from the resort and it has good reviews on Trip Advisor (currently rated #8 out of 98). Casual...it's an old fashioned steakhouse...good for sandwiches too.

Thanks! We rely heavily on Trip Advisor when traveling too! We are a group that loves Happy Hour, so it's ok if the town goes to bed early(we do too), LOL!!
