Hi, just wanted to introduce myself as I will be doing a lot of lurking and maybe a little questioning here over the next few months! First I'd like to just thank everyone who participates in these boards because it helps SO SO much for people who find it agonizingly hard to make decisions, like me (and my husband!)

We are a family of 5 that lives in Orlando - one 15 year old and almost 3 year old twins. I have probably taken Disney for granted as I've lived here my whole life, but having the twins I think made me appreciate it a lot more. When you are trying to find first class entertainment for wide age gaps, including great shows and dining, it really just cannot be beat. Therefore even though my past cruising has been 3 day non-Disney cruises, when we tried to come up with something to do for our spring break to make everyone happy, we just kept coming back to a Disney cruise. We're all very excited and optimistic that it will live up to our expectations!

I planned to post lots of questions about which boat I should choose and which itinerary but once I realized there was only one choice for my older son's Spring Break, the decision was made, for better or worse. Funnily enough it ended up being the Star Wars cruise, which I could have lived without! We aren't real dresser uppers. That being said, we ARE very much "when in Rome" kinda people and think it's fun to embrace different stuff that we wouldn't normally do so I think it we'll really enjoy it! My 15 year old will probably find it to be a hoot.

Anyway, thanks for reading. Please feel free to throw out any suggestions as they are greatly appreciated.

We're a family of 5 in Orlando, too! We also have a 15yo - but, no little ones anymore. You'll have an amazing cruise! There's much less to worry about than you think. Just relax and enjoy........

We did this cruise in Feb. You can read my trip report here.
Although for our cruise we didn't stop at Jamaica but I think they are adding it back on next year. That means you will be getting one day less "at sea" but you get to explore another port. I personally loved the days at sea!

The cruise was awesome! Lots of activities for adults, teens, and kids, plus the Disney magic and service which is just awesome. Star Wars was really only one full day, and the rest of the time was just regular disney "cruising" activities. You will have a lot to gawk at on SWDAS, lots of cosplayers etc. Most people just wore Star Wars t-shirts. Plus you'll get to see all the Star Wars movies on board which is really cool.

Have a great cruise! I hope you'll come back and write all about it! I'm really looking forward to seeing what changes they made with SWDAS compared to this year.

I'd also suggest you keep an eye on the Cruise Meet board to see if your cruise has a cruise meet thread.
