Just booked OKW for May!

I'm surprising DS7 with a trip in May (a couple of weeks before his 8th birthday), for just the two of us. Was hoping for a value studio at AKV (our home resort and possibly my most favorite place ever!) but figured the chances were slim booking this close. No luck at AKV, but was able to get an OKW studio. Looking forward to trying out a new resort! Only 38 days to go! Unfortunately, this uses up all our borrowed 2011 UY points. With a December UY, it'll mean the last trip for awhile. Makes it a little bittersweet!

Any must-dos or recommendations for OKW with an almost 8 year old boy?

You and your son will enjoy Old Key West, a very relaxing resort. He will probably enjoy the feature pool the most with the sandcastle slide.
