Just booked meal reservations for August trip and ....

I was given reservation numbers. This hasn't happened when I've booked tables for DLP before so I thought I'd post it here.
I have reservations for Walts and Agrabah Cafe at 8pm (handy to know for anyone going in high season that these are open for dinner) and I also discovered that Inventions will have characters lunchtimes as well as evenings in summer. I didn't go for Inventions character lunch as it is 53 euro and a bit more than I want to pay for lunch. Still, for anyone with little children who may want to do character lunch it is a bonus
I went for Plaza Gardens instead but may change that once we are there, perhaps for Restaurant des Stars.

We've been given reservation numbers on random occasions in the past. However I don't think there's really any benefit to having them as the one time they couldn't find our booking at the Steakhouse the reservation number was as much use to them as a chocolate teapot - everybody was booked in by name! It turned out that they'd checked in another party of 5 with a similar sounding surname to ours so all ended happily.

Nice choices for your meals - enjoy.

Thanks for that Hazel, I would feel safer with a reservation number....even if they do ignore it . Would be even better if you could get an email confirmation !
I am so hoping the rest of my group want to do Walts, I would like to see inside Agrabah before I go there , do you think you can? You know just look in?
Quite frankly there aren't enough nights for all the restaurants I want to try

Plaza gardens is getting really good reviews just now, will you let me know what you think Hazel?

I think it is just for summer season but if it goes well who knows?
The CM I spoke with seemed to think it is to increase availability of character meals but of course this is at the top end so DLP would make more money than from say reinstating the cowboy cookout option.

Sorry I don't know - I asked for 8pm and wasn't told if any later times were available.

You can ask to go in and look at the food and or seating in any of the restaurants - I have many times and have done the same in WDW too. They are used to people wanting to see the themeing or look at whats on the buffet so just go for it!

Plaza Gardens was really good last year and yes it does get good reviews at the moment. I liked it and like you I am fairly particular about food quality

Hopefully I will be doing a big write up on this trip as it is me and DH and he doesn't mind me obsessing over details and taking pictures of food, themeing, menus etc.

I am a bit disappointed about inventions lunch as it was a lovely quiet oasis last summer with lovely food and not too expensive. Hopefully an early lunch at Plaza Gardens will be nice.

Actually remembered to make my reservations today

We've got:
Wednesday night - find somewhere in Val d'Europe (open to recommendations)
Thursday night - Plaza Gardens
Friday night - Billy Bob's
Saturday night - Chuck Wagon
Sunday night - Silver Spur Steakhouse
Monday night - BBWWS
Tuesday - Restaurant des Stars ( 3.30pm latest time )
Wednesday lunch - Plaza Gardens before we leave for home

Not sure if we'll stick to this and I do need to slot Annette's into the schedule, wouldn't be a dlp trip without a visit to Annette's, but if everywhere is really busy at least I know we'll be able to eat somewhere
