Just booked Kidani Village Sav. View Studio for Aug09 - MS warned of construction?

As the topic said, I just booked a Savanna View Studio in Kidani Village for next August (8/9 - 8/16, specifically). The MS rep told me that there would still be construction activity occurring as part of "Phase 2." How concerned should I be about this? I was under the impression that KV would be done in May 2009.

Phase I opens May 1, which will include pool, restaurant and store. Phase 2 opens September 1. Exactly what Phase 2 is is unclear but it appears to be the northwestern part of the building and the new savanna that is being added there Phase 1 savanna rooms will face the existing sunset savanna). Likely if you are there in Aug, the only construction going on will be finishing the internal portion of the rooms of that northwestern wing.

If you look at post #36 in this thread you can see the Kidani Units declared so far. They have not declared any Units in the part of Kidani that is furthest from Jambo House, so that is probably "Phase 2". That area is closest to the pool so it's possible that you will see/hear construction from the pool area. Since it is scheduled to open in September 2009, they should be pretty far along with the work by your travel dates.

I just adjusted a July ressie on Sunday at Jambo and got the same caveat about construction at the resort...for a Jambo ressie?!

According to my guide today - the main lobby, restaurants, pool area and south wing will be finished in May 2009. The remaining upper wings and rainforest savannah won't be finished until September 2009.

Thanks for the replies! Seems like it won't be too disruptive. I was mostly concerned about having a construction view, which seems impossible. Thanks!

I'm glad to hear that Kidani will be fully open by September, 2009. We're planning on taking my parents there and showing them our new "home". I am blowing two and a half years of points to get a savanna view 2BR and I am looking forward to booking Kidani. My dad loves OKW (from the ONE time he stayed there ) so I am hoping that he'll love AKV too! I'm glad to hear that we shouldn't have any construction to deal with.
