We decided to head down on short notice, just booked Hilton Grand Vacation SeaWorld from July 30th to August 8. We plan on doing SeaWorld and Aquatica and LEGOLAND. I have never been to Florida in July/ August, what can I expect? Crowds and heat wise? What should I bring to the resort? We are not planning on doing any Disney parks but maybe Downtown Disney. Our kids are 5 and 2 and we will go to Disney in May 2014 :)
Never have been to SeaWorld with kids. Any advice and input welcome :)

Hi Maus,

We are doing the same thing but later in August. It will be our first time at SW so I'll be curious to see what replies you get. Actually our first time non Disney...it was just too expensive this year.

It will be hot in August, that I can tell you. Plan on bringing water and maybe a handheld mister or two. But since HGVC is close to the SW parks I would think that you wouldn't have to pack like you would for a day at WDW as it looks easy enough to get back to the hotel for breaks.

How are you getting to Legoland? Will you have a car? We will be car free so I'm looking at transport options for out and about.

I literally just booked this trip two days ago so my head is spinning trying to get everything organized. I'll try to help answer what I can as I find things out :).

We are going late July and my plan is to do sea world from 9-1. Then from 6 to 9 to see the evening shows. Pool and lunch/dinner between times.

My kids are 6 and 4 but we have been pass holders foe several years. We have found that happy harbor is great until after the first shamu show. Then it gets busy so generally we do that from 10 to noon or so depending on the show schedule.

My kids love the rope climb but it is an easy place to loose them. So I leave the stroller somplace specific and make sure the oldest knows to go back there to meet me should we get seperated.

I also pack cups for the kids and then buy a refillable drink cup in the park. I refill it once then split it between them leaving the rest for me. I enjoy not having to pack drinks on our sw days. I have cups that we bought a decade ago and they still work for refills at all the busch family parks. Popcorn buckets are also refillable and a good deal.

Happy planning

It will be hot and prepare for a late afternoon rain that may happen one or more days of your vacation.

If you are early people, best to get to the parks when they open. Much can get done with lower crowds in the first couple of hours. Have the kids in clothes they can get wet or pack a change of clothes. There are places for the kids to get wet. Both kids will enjoy happy harbor at SW, and, for the older one, the car driving in Legoland will be alot of fun.

Where you are staying is very close to SW. You can walk, it's not too far to the entrance.

Legoland is about 45 minutes down the road. The main highway is minutes from where you are staying. The parkway is very easy to enter and exit from Interstate 4.

Have a great time! The pool area at your resort is really nice. Tropical looking. So, I would bring whatever you normally bring on vacation.

Have fun and thanks for posting :) We will have a car, I booked a package with flights and car.

Stayed at the Hilton Grande last month and it was very nice. As others mentioned you can walk to Sea World or take the free shuttle. The SW entrance is just across the street but you have to go to the far end of the parking lot to get to the entrance. We chose to walk over and shuttle back.
