I just called the Grand Floridian Spa and booked the 80 minute couples' massage, for the day of our anniversary. If you've done this before, can you tell me how it was? Did you and your spouse enjoy it? I decided on the 80 minute option rather than the 50 minute option.

I'd love to hear any and all experiences with this. Thanks! :)

P.S. The woman I spoke to told me that since we booked this treatment now, we'll be able to use the facilities at the Spa for our entire stay at the Polynesian resort. Have any of you used the facilities? What is there? Thanks again! :)

we haven't but will be doing it in November. When is your trip, can't wait to hear your feedback!

DH and I have done the couples massage a few times. They have you both in the same room during the massage. That's really the only difference between that and the regular that I can think of. It is nice to know that you're enjoying the experience "together" rather than completely separate. The facilities are very nice at the GF Spa. They have a nice gym and sauna there. We've been told in the past that the access to the facilities are only available to us the day of treatments. How nice that you can go there during your whole trip! :)

I have never done it but just to let you know anyone at the Poly can use the GF spa for the course of their stay now without paying for the privilege...of course treatments etc are extra, but the health club, locker rooms, whirpool, saunas are now part of the amenities!

Thanks for the replies so far! :)

Disney_1derland: Our trip is in 4 weeks, so I'll definitely be able to give a review when we get back, before your trip.

Anyone else?? :) We had a couples' massage on our Disney cruise and really enjoyed it, so I thought it'd be a fun thing to do on our anniversary, too! :love2:

The woman that you spoke to gave you sort of correct information, but it's not because you booked the couples massage. As a guest of either the GF or the Poly, you are more than welcome to use the healthclub and spa facilities free of charge. For anyone else, if they book a spa treatment, then they can use it for that day only (without having to pay the user fee).

The healthclub has a variety of machines that you can use for a workout. There are 2 lounge areas, one for men and one for women. Each comes with their own relaxation room, changing area, lockers, showers, bathroom, sauna, steam and whirlpool. They are equipped very nicely with tea, cold water, fruit, magazines, mouthwash, hair care items, disposable razors, etc. It's a wonderful spot to relax and spend a little downtime. Unfortunately, or fortunately (depending on how you look at it), you'll be in a separate area than your spouse.

I've done a number of treatments there, but not the couples massage. I find facials to be much more relaxing for me. My husband loves the massage though. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. The rooms are very comfortable with candles burning and nice spa music in the background.

We enjoyed it the day after our wedding. Basically you shared a room for the massage, I was expecting a more romantic setting though. The spa facilities were great and we left in a total state of relaxation. Perfect after the hectic few day we had prior to the wedding.
