Just booked Courtyard Marriott at DD for the $20.03 rate. How are the rooms?

We're in the same dilemna. But here's my rationalization. I booked Sun-Thurs since that's when the rate applies. If the transportation's really bad we can always catch busses back to the Marketplace and walk. The $500 I'll be saving can finance alot of extra stuff at Disney in the parks. Once we get to a park we seldom leave so we really do use our rooms only for sleeping. Staying on property was more of an issue when the kids were smaller because of naps and feedings but now that my youngest is 6, it's not that much of an issue. (And I like Pizza Hut thin & crispy pizza!).

HI , Has anyone gotten this for June before ????? thanks Michelle

answered my own question by calling .. no 20.03 rates till Aug 10th !!! bummer for me however they do offer a rate of 89 including full hot breakfast for 2 each day ( or 79 without ) might be worth switching from PO-R since they are now going to be doing constrution on the FQ ?? can any one help me decide ?? Thanks for any input.. Michelle

Well i am currently booked at POR .. w/o breakfast for 104.88 (code rate) I am just worried about the whole FQ closing thing. Have done AS before rooms are a bit smallish for us.. thanks for the input .. Will probaly stay where i am .. Michelle

Last time I tried to use the DD bus trans (maybe a couple months ago) the signs for the busses showed only transportation to the resorts not directly to the parks unless just dont list it on the boards to try to deter people from parking at DD to save parking fees.

I stayed at this Marriott twice last year using the 20.02 rates & used the bus transportation to the parks during our entire stay & felt the busing was better than the bussing at the all stars resorts as long as you follow the schedule. at the all stars you just had to wait & wait & the buses were always crowded. The buses that the Marriott uses are all with tour bus style seating and the times I rode it, people did not have to stand up because of being crowded like the all stars buses.

I think the dd bus only go to resorts, but you could take the bus to the boardwalk and then ride the boat to epcot.Might be kind of long. I called courtyard only to find out that i would only save 60.00 so I'm not sure if its worth it not for me to switch. We are at the all stars and I know that the rooms would be bigger but I'm still worried about the bus service also no early entrance program. Not really sure what to do.I need to figure this out real soon before my dates are sold out.

You are right about the DTD buses. I figure that if I have to use those buses It will give me a chance to see some of the resorts that we've missed out on so far. I've always wanted to do that but have never taken the time!
Judging from your experience with the Mariott buses it might not happen now either:)

The Downtown Disney Courtyard as an onsite hotel has a good bus service. As they run to a schedule we know we can go down at a certain time and get a bus - unlike the endless waits at Disney resorts.

If you have just missed a bus you can cross over and get it on the way back at the Grosvenor. If there are lots of people at TTC take the monorail to Epcot and get a quieter bus from there ( or take a Disney bus the the marketplace)

With grown kids we find the Pleasure Island bus a lot more convenient than Disney's - Hi Ramsey (He is the regular driver on that bus)

They had an ad in my local paper for $25/night stays Sun-Thurs May-June this year. Unfortunately, by the time I got around to calling, all the dates I wanted weren't available. They had a day here and there... They said I could stay for one of the days at $25 and then pay $99 for the other days.

Anyone know if the HOTEL reservations is staffed on Sunday?

We are looking for some information for the best room to request at this rate. We have never stayed there and have no clue which rooms are best. Such as, view & closeness to everything. Thanks for any help.

I booked reservations here yesterday and they didn't ask my preference of rooms. When I pulled up the confirmation it said Pool View so I'm assuming it's in one of the wings and not the Tower. I think any room would be ok here as it's not that big a place. I stayed here once in the mid '80's when it was the Howard Johnson's and I remember it was just "ok" back then. Like a lot of people have said recently if you miss a buss you can always walk across to the Grosvenor and get it there as it circles the hotels on Hotel Plaza Boulevard. I have heard that if you are in the Tower rooms you can see the fireworks and some of MK or the Orlando skyline (depending on which side your on) and in the wings it's either the pool or I guess the back of the hotel.

I posted a question last night about needing a cheap hotel on our first night and got a reply about this rate. It sounded great, so I called today and got the $20.03 rate for September 28. Just know that you have to pay in full when you make the reservation and it is nonrefundable.
