Just booked AKL!

I was at AKL for the first time last October (my birthday trip), and I fell in love with the resort. I had a pool view room, and although it was convenient to the lobby and Mara, I regretted not having a savannah view room. I broke down and paid the extra money for a savannah view room this trip (August 8-13).

Can someone please reccomend a good area to reccomend? I was on the Zebra trail last time, and loved that location. Is this the best, or is there another good savannah view location?

I would just request 3rd or 4th floor facing the Arusha savannah. We were on Kudu trail in May and it was nice.

Read my post - we just returned. We were on the 2nd floor, on Zebra Trail, looking at Arusha Savannah, close to the Mara elevators (a few rooms further down the trail). It was awesome - very up close and personal with the animals. I think you would do fine 2nd or 3rd floor - is 4th floor smoking??
I was lucky to get the exact room location I requested - I haven't before, and have had to be a little assertive at check in, so if you don't like the room location they give you, be prepared to ask for another! We've had to move the next day to another room before, and were willing to do that to get the view we wanted. Good Luck!

Just wanted to add, Arusha Savannah view is the main priority. Kudu Trail is fine, just a longer walk to the pool and Mara.

I would recommend Kudu Trail and a longer walk to the pool and Mara if you like a quiet room. There seemed to be a lot of traffic (especially near the elevators) over on the Zebra Trail side of the resort when we were there in May. And the hallways are narrow, so a little traffic seems like more.

We were on the Kuda Trail 4th floor facing the Arusha Sav. I was wonderful. I can't remember our room # but we had a kind of corner room. It was great. always saw lots of animals. Not to bad of a walk to get to Mara and the pool!

MIlmore it sounds like the room we just left this past Monday. We were 4th floor Kudu Trail kindof corner room 4241. We all loved it.
But my dh pointed out that a 2 or 3rd floor might be better because of all the treetops blocking view.
