I just booked Port Orleans Riverside for 7 nights Jan1-8. I used the AP discount and spent about $617. I wanted to know if I haven't actually purchased the Annual Pass, and I wanted to know if i have to activate it at the park before I can check in or if i can use the voucher at check in? Do they still give vouchers when you purchase them through disneyworld.com? I've never bought one before so i have a few questions. Feel free to email me. And, anyone have good things to say about this resort? It will just be me and my girlfriend. thanks Also, i know the crowds are low the second week of Jan, but how are they the first week? I've never seen the xmas decorations so thats why we boosted it up to the first week. Can anyone tell me about crowds?? thanks

DW and I just returned from POR where we stayed on an Ap rate. They never asked to see an AP. However, past experience indicates that if they do ask, you do not need to have an activated AP at check-in, but will need to show it at some point during your stay.

P.S.
POR is a lovely resort with both a table-service restaurant and an excellent food court. Both our stays there were wonderful. We're partial to the mansion buildings.

Have a great time!

We have stayed at PO-Riverside (formerly Dixie Landings) many times before we joined DVC. It is our favorite moderate resort! You will love it! Both the resturaunt and the food court are great and the grounds and the pools are wonderful. The rooms are very pretty too and for the money - you can't do much nicer. Have a wonderful time!!

P.S. -- the first week of Jan. is usually pretty busy compared to the second week but the Christmas decorations will still be up (they do take them down little by little the first week of Jan. though so if you see any Christmas decorations you want a picture of-- take them as soon as you see them -- they may be gone the next day - that happend to us-lol)and the parks and resorts look so pretty so it makes having the extra crowds worth it if you haven't been to WDW during the Christmas season.

Enjoy!!

Well as long as its not too crowded, we're not expecting to wait in line for more than 20-25 mins is that reasonable? We went in June and only waited a long time for splash mountain and space mountain.

We've stayed at POR 4x and really like it there. If you are flying in to MCO you can buy your AP's at the airport Disney store. When we've done it they have been very efficient--both times our luggage hadn't reached the baggage claim area yet! These are not the vouchers, they are the actual AP's & will be active the day you purchase them.
