Just Book A Standard View at the BWV. Am I going to be looking at a wall or a dumpster?

Neither. Probably the front drive leading up to the resort.

Just out of curiosity, what are your trip dates? Always love to hear success stories of people booking hard-to-get rooms.

I think most of the standard view rooms look out over the main entrance to BWV. Most people are happy with their standard views. I think a lot of the time you can see some fireworks in the evening. I'd be glad to be saving the points. I think some others will be able to tell you more about any requests you should make. Have fun on your trip!

I have a std 2 bdr booked at the end of June. I love it when I can save those points. The other stds that we've had, all overlooked the drive up to the main entrance. We are early risers and sit out on the balcony and watch the people coming and going in the morning. At night you can see some of the fireworks and if the wind is blowing just right, you can hear the music. It is also a quick trip down to the pool by taking one of the back staircases.

We have always been very pleased with the std rooms.

Have a great trip!

My trip dates are 5/31 to June 6. We are at the BWV on 5/31, 6/1 and 6/2. Moving to another hotel for the remaining three days of the trip.

Just got back from BWV standard 1-bedroom. First time I booked a standard view, it was very nice, we have alway's booked and boardwalk view and I thought I would try a standard view for a change. It all depend's on the individual, our next trip home is in December and we will have a 1-bedroom Boardwalk view.

I've booked a standard view at BWV only once, but I was very pleased with my view. It was a studio, lots of lawn in front of me, way across from the bus stop. The next day I'd already planned to switch to BCV, but I'd say that my view at BWV was better.

Add me to the list of people happy with their standard view at the BW. We had a lovely 1 BR, top floor unit that looked at the front drive/bus stop (actually directly across from the bus stop). There's lots of lawn and some trees. We could see a few buildings from Epcot. We had a nice large balcony that ran the length of our unit. We enjoyed watching the buses come and go in the early morning. I also enjoyed saving money with this view!

you JUST booked std view today for these dates? i find that unbelievable! is this a points reservation or did you book thru CRO? if you booked thru CRO then you will get a pool/garden view. most standard views are taken by dvc owners at the 11 month window.

if this is a points ressie, color me shocked! :earseek: and you lucky!

yeah, I just booked today. Are standard views at the BWV really that hard to get?

I'll be shocked, too, since they are three of the five dates I am waitlisted for!!!
Are you waitlisted for the whole time period or day-by-day?

Just thought I'd throw my story in here. Yesterday, I made a reservation (using points) for a standard view studio room from May 13th to May 17th . This morning, my in-laws decided that they would like to come along, so we booked a 2nd standard view studio room for them this morning for the same dates.

This is our first time staying at BWV and I'm glad to read these reports about what constitutes a standard view. Of course, the view is not as important to me as the location, especially during the Flower & Garden Festival.

We have stayed in standard view and again booked standard for our trip in December (17th - 24th). Last year we had a great view...end of the resort overlooking the pond and the canal...my boys loved watching the ducks every morning. We had a clear view of ToT as well. For the point savings, it is, IMHO, the best value available in the DVC (OKW and SSR are great...but with BWV sv you get the best of both worlds. Cheeper points and great location).

I booked Boardwalk view for our stay in Dec at 11 mos. MS told me that Boardwalk view was harder to get than standard view. Is that not true? They told me to call day by day to make the ressie otherwise I might have to switch to a water/pool or standard view during our 9 day stay.

You did the right thing. My guess is there are fewer Baordwalk Views than Standard Views, but not by many. I always book 11 months out day-by-day if I know the dates and I want a specific type of unit.
