Ah, so that's why you were up so early. Good luck getting them jammies for Kody. My mom got my sister a pair of the adult footie PJ's -- the sock monkey ones. I hope it's not too insane. Luckily we got out of there before we opened at 7a. It's gonna be a crazy day for the last minute shoppers.

But Im glad it's Christmas Eve too. I need some things to go back to 'normal', big time. That and it's exciting that Christmas is tomorrow.

And I somehow need 40 odd posts before then!!

I decided that because JC Penney is open so we are going now. I will be back. If you are asleep when I get back I will talk to you later.

Hello everyone! It's Christmas Eve!

Glad to hear your shift went well Jazz! And also glad you made it through Walmart Michele. I have to do a bit of last minute shopping today, and that is one store I am hoping to avoid. Normally I love that store, but not on Christmas Eve!

Alrighty!! TTFN and I hope you are able to get what you need.

Hi there again!!

I did survive but, barely at that. I am not sure how well my wallet survived.:rotfl:

Good luck getting the last bit of stuff that you need as well.

Hi again! Not by much either. My aunt just woke me up with a phone call to wish me a Merry Christmas. I need some more sleep but my dad is out getting donuts and we have to clean afterward. I don't think I'll be allowed to go back to sleep.

Spend a little more than you meant to? But the real question (that counts anyway) is did you get what you went out for?

Argh Jessica, I should have just gone to Target in the the first place because that is where I ended up. We went to JC Penney's, Game Stop, and Barnes & Noble and then we were off and running to Target to get Kody jammies because she didn't find any she liked in all of the ones they had at JC Penney.

I'm watching The Grinch with Jim Carrey. Who won Survivor?
I think it's OK to post - the finale was last week but I just watched it last night. I was so happy - "Fabio" won. He was the only one I remotely liked near the end.

Notice I included wine IN the dinner. :thumbsup2!

Love it!!!

The money part is always good. I never had to the overnight at Target, I worked front lanes, so I was either one of the opening Guest Service people, in the Cash Office or the opening Front Lanes Supervisor. I had to go in early but never do an overnight.

I know you said you were looking for work - would you consider going back to Target? Just curious :)

That's nice stuff, I've seen some really pretty pieces. I want to buy some charms at Michael's and copy the Pandora style. :)
Oh, I bet you could come up with some really pretty stuff! :thumbsup2

Good morning and happy Christmas Eve! I really need to get off the computer and clean the house. For some reason, that's not really motivating :rotfl: We are having some family over for dinner. DH is the cook, so that's not my deal. I already baked so that's done - "wrapped" gifts last night - gotta love gift bags :lovestruc So now it's just clean-up and stuff.

I envy your wrapping being done. I have not wrapped a single thing.:scared1:

GIFT BAGS. :rotfl2:

You know I considered gift bags really I did. Now I wish I had done it. I am not going anywhere else today except to the bicycle shop. Oh and to get my husband from work. Maybe.:rotfl2:

Go figure, right? But at least, I assume, you got the jammies?

I was happy with the win too, as opposed to who else made it to the end. This seasons cast was just 'meh'. Nothing special and I'll forget this season fast I'm sure.

What did you think of the new 'twist' for net year?

GIFT BAGS. :rotfl2:

^ That is how I have to do things. Mostly because my wrapping looks like a little kid had the task. It's bad. At least with bags you just plop 'em in tissue paper and plop 'em in the bag!

Yes, she found exactly what she wanted at Target. I was so pleased because I think I may have strangled her otherwise quite honestly.

Michele! I totally just remembered. Did you ever get that scarf done in time?

:rotfl2: Um, no, but I decided that I am not going to give it to him for Christmas so he thinks he has to give Scotty or I a present. I am going to give it to him in a few weeks and tell him I saw the yarn and thought of him which is true. Thank you for remembering.

I am really not having a good morning... Maybe I should be thankful it's afternoon haha... Anyways I usually love Christmas and buying gifts for my hubby but this year I don't have anything for him and when I went to the store today they didn't have anything I wanted to get him and I am so frustrated and tired I can't stop crying...

I just want it to be next year...

Oh I am so sorry.

 Paula, it's OK!!

Michele, sounds like the scarf will all work out in the end and it gives you plenty of time to finish it.

OK, so I'm browsing through the big community board (which I do often because they get some amusing topics posted over there) and I just had to bring this one up here to see what you guys thing and/or have done:

I never would have thought to do this on my own, but I was telling a friend what DD was getting for Christmas and she told me what SHE would do, and I liked it so much I am doing it! It is really mean though. LOL

DD12 really, really, REALLY wants Ugg boots for Christmas. I had told her she needs to go lay down, put her little head on her little pillow and keep dreaming! I was not spending upwards of $149 for a pair of boots that need to be taken care of.

Well, I found a pair for $72. That's not bad, so I got them. I was telling my friend how the box says UGG AUSTRALIA on it. That's when she told me she would put something else in the box, and wrap it up!!! OMG! So DD will open the box and see UGG on it, squeal with delight, but open it up and find...a stuffed puppy. (that's what I put in the box).

I wrapped the boots up and since I hand out the gifts, I will make sure she gets them last.

I do have to say, my DD is pretty sharp. She may realize if there is an UGG box in the house, the boots can't be too far away!

We'll see tomorrow morning. I can't wait!

Anyone Got any fun stories along those lines?

Anyone Got any fun stories along those lines?

Not exactly along the same lines, but one Christmas when we were kids, my brother asked for a Playmobil(anyone remember that?) mansion. I had also asked for a dollhouse but he didn't know that. The first thing that he saw Christmas morning was my dollhouse hiding under the coffee table and he thought my parents got that for him thinking it was what he wanted. He got sooo sad and almost started crying, so my parents quickly had to whip out his box from behind the tree.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!! I slept in until 11am today because I went to a Christmas party last night and because it's my first day of my four day vacation :woohoo: I really need to get started on my baking soon though!

:yay: for your 4-day vacation Meredith! I'm glad you got to sleep in.

Aw, I totaly remember the Playmobil stuff. Stories like that always make me giggle a little but I hate the idea of dissapointment on Christmas morning.

My family has ever done anything 'big' to throw us off, but we got coal candy one year in out stockings and every now and again my mom will wrap a box inside of a box inside of a box. My Aunt used to emarass my cousin by wrapping her gifts in empty Tampax boxes.

Anyone Got any fun stories along those lines?

My sister is nearly five years older than I am and she got engaged when I was 14 years old. I used to kind of have a mean spirited sense of humor. So on their first Christmas together my mom bought him something like a manicure set, and I was her gift wrapper. So, when it came time to wrap his present it needed a box so I took a bra box and wrapped his present in it. Christmas Eve comes and we are all opening presents and we were each opening one at a time and watching each other open our presents. He was hilarious opening the present. Thankfully he has a good sense of humor.:rotfl:

The following year his brother had come to move in with them. So he got the bra box that year. When she married her second husband he also got the bra box. Ah yes, my only regret? Is that I never get bras that come in boxes or Loren would be about the age to get one.

Poor guy.

Sleeping in sounds good to me.
