YUMMM.....so what is it actually??

Pretty much pure sugar. It's a sweet bread but instead of making loaf, you roll the dough into little balls and cover them in a sugar and cinnamon mix. You layer the dough balls in the baking pan (I used a bundt pan), pour a sugar syrup over it and bake.

When it's done, instead of cutting it, everyone just pulls a piece off. Also called pull apart bread. It's really easy to make.

And it snowed here last night and this morning then turned to grey slush so it was stay inside day. Which called for movies, books and baking. We just had hot chocolate & monkey bread while watching The Holiday with Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Jack Black and Cameron Diaz. Yep I've started on the holiday movies already. Snow does that to me.

I love that movie......good choice.

I just read the recipe on your blog, and I could feel myself putting on 5 kilos just reading it.
It sounds awesome, but I would probably eat the lot!!!
Arent American recipes so different to ours? We would never think to come up with something so yummy!!!
I read some of your blog...you have had an amazing life....mine looks quite boring by comparison!!!:rolleyes1

I love that movie too! I'll start listening to Christmas music the day after thanksgiving... I just can't before then, lol

I cheated, I couldn't help myself. I listened to some Christmas music the other day. I have a descent collection of crooners, love me some Bing, Frank, Dean, and Sammy.

I learned something new yesturday. The song Jessica Rabbit sings in the movie isn't an original, it's sung by Miss Peggy Lee. I downloaded it yesturday from itunes. I also downloaded You'll Belong to my Heart by Bing Crosby, that song comes from The Three Caberllos and a Pluto short.

It's QUIET in here today! I guess everyone is busy spending time with their families!! Time for bed for me.. Hope you all have a good day!

thanks for the bday wishes :grouphug: It was a nice day. It was raining/thunder storming and I was comfy in my house :thumbsup2 DD6 had a slumber party without the slumber (meaning 5:30-8:30pm) so DH and I went to the Cheesecake Factory for a date. Had a glass of chardonnay, some appetizers, and of course a slice of cheesecake :woohoo: Tonight we're going out for the family dinner, at this Japanese steakhouse place (like Benihana). Kids are excited :) My mom and dad, brother, and MIL are coming too. Brother just comes for the free food :rolleyes2

I am loving the Christmas music on the radio!!! :santa:

I am glad you had a good birthday. I really like the food at Cheesecake Factory, but I dont like cheesecake!!!:)

We dont seem to celebrate Xmas like you guys do. There is no Xmas music on the radio.
I think the problem here is that we are such a multicultural nation that all the "do gooders" are so busy trying to not offend the non Christian population that our original traditions are forgotten.
So many school are not allowed to have Xmas plays or sing Xmas carols, Nativity scenes are very rarely seen in shopping malls now, and the whole Xmas time has been sanitised.
When I was little whole streets decorated their houses, but now that is happening less & less. I think that is why I want to be in DL next Xmas, to see Xmas again in its entirety.........
I will get off my soap box now!!!!:rolleyes1

We are getting more and more like that here. I hate it. I can remember as a kid seeing Santa Claus at all of the stores and now the only place you see him is the mall. And they expect you to buy these huge package of pictures that are as expensive as they are if you buy the pictures in Disneyland. Boo.

Go ahead and be on you soap box. I will join you!!

Thanks Michele...
I am just having one of those days......I have no Xmas spirit this year, so I hope it hits me soon!!!!:confused3
Maybe it is waiting for next year and all the DL magic.
I also find it is very hard to get all Chrissmasy when it is 100 degrees!!!:headache:

I have a hard time getting the Christmas spirit myself. My kids are getting older and they want piercings for Christmas from me. I would rather give them the piercings after Christmas and buy them things that have more of a holiday feel to them. :confused3

Come & decorate mine when you are finished!!!:thumbsup2

Poor Dex will go mental, he will not be able to touch anything, so maybe I will just put the baby tree up this year??:confused3

I know what you mean, but mine are into tattoos, not peircings. If it's what they want wont they appreciate it more??
I have got a DL brick for my kids & grandson, and I am going to give them some money.

I think that whether they get it for Christmas or after the first of the year they should appreciate it. I debate letting the youngest getting one. He is only 14.
