Hi ! I need some help with a poem that I have to do for English.

It is a 'Just Because' poem.

I chose to do
Just because I love Disney..

so far I have

-Doesn't make me immature
-Doesn't mean I am a nerd.
-Doesn't mean I am crazy.

I need a few things that show what I am not. Basically, stereotypes.
I thought what better place to ask than the cool cats on the DIS [:

Just because I love Disney........
doesn't mean I want to live under the sea
or live in a hole in a tree
nor does it mean I expect my toys to talk
or for boy puppets to walk

If the fairy god mother came to my house
she would not be let in, even with the mouse
And if dwarfs numbering seven rang
my local pd would truss them up like a gang

Now if an alien came to my school
my teacher's reaction could be cool
As I sit here I wish I had more luck
and could be spinning endlessly in a tea cup

gotta go half time is over

doesn't mean I don't have a life
doesn't mean I'm childish
doesn't mean I visit to Disney exclusively
doesn't mean I like everything they do

Doesn't make me immature
-Doesn't mean I am a nerd.
-Doesn't mean I am crazy.
Or a bit absurd

Op asked for some input/help. Not for anyone to write it. Consider it research. We all needed help with assignments now and then.

Asking for help is far different than people writing it for her. Did you read the posts?

And, no, I didn't go asking for strangers to do a simple poem for me. You might have, of course.

It's called brainstorming. OP is looking for ideas. Sheesh...
Good ones so far. I like the Disney clothes one. I love WDW, but my clothes run along the lines of simple pieces in mostly black, grey, white, etc.! How about fanny packs and Crocs? That is scary! Also, how about something about knowing there are other places to visit? Some people just give you that look when they know you are going again!:rotfl2:
Are you going to go into why you? I like those reaons more!

at a certain point, brainstorming becomes cheating.

not every assignment is meant to be a group assignment.

Seriously? I mean really, are you serious? Give the OP and PP's a break, the OP was looking for "ideas" and she is getting them.

Are you honestly telling me you NEVER got help online or elsewhere from other people to complete an assignment?

I'm sorry, I hardly EVER post on here, but that one got me!

By the way OP, sounds like a good start and there are some great ideas on here. Sorry, I am not very creative, so I don't really have anything to offer!

i don't allow my kids to ask random strangers to do their work, no. I want their grades to match their work. I want to know if they are having a problem, rather than them using information from others to cover that up. I also think it unfair for the kids in the class who do the work themselves.

I was a student during the ice age. If i wanted to ask someone, it would be someone with a vested interest in my doing my own work, parent, teacher, etc.

The purpose of education is to learn the information. If someone gives you the answers, you don't learn. Asking on the Dis, I suspect that the 16 year old in question copied the poem, and went to bed.

lol, I hope akcire gets a good grade!

Ya know...DW is really the only place where no one makes fun of you for wearing these things (together)!!! I love it!:grouphug:

Learning doesn't take place in isolation.
Fanny packs and Crocs- I did give up the fanny pack a few years ago, which I am embarrased to admit. IRL, I like to think I am somewhat fashionable and would never wear one, but WDW is different. I don't weat Crocs in WDW, but that is only because I don't find them comfy for walking long distances. I do schlep around in my Mammoths sometimes at home, though.
