I had a hair appointment today, DS7 also needed a cut so my stylist Suzie said to bring him along. DH wasn't going to be home in time to watch DD4 so I brought her along with a coloring book & crayons. We pulled into the parking lot & I said "Now, this is going to take about an hour so be good". Usually not a problem , they're usually much better out than they are at home, but I always like to remind them. Well, they fought & picked @ each other the entire time. I finally said, both of you SIT DOWN!!! DS sat down, but DD continued to mess with DS, so he pushed her - BAM!!!! into a flower pot & stand - broken into about 10 different pieces. I was absolutely LIVID!!!! I didn't even know what to say, I was so embarrassed. Suzie just said, oh that's ok, it was old, accidents happen. But no, it's not ok. I asked her where it came from our how much but she wouldn't tell me so I just left her a big tip. Why can't they just be good? They love to tell me how mean I am, I don't want to be mean, HONEST, just be good & I'll be nice. JUST BE GOOD - I want to know - Is that too much to ask????

Thanks for listening to my rant

 We have all had days like this! I hope they start listening soon!

Children certainly keep us on our toes, don't they? From embarassment to pride in the blink of an eye! There were days when mine were small, I wanted to introduce them as my husband's children from his first marriage, LOL. But they looked too much like me!
Today will become one of those family stories that will survive and you will be able to tell their children someday. (That's what grandparents are for, you know.)
Hope tomorrow is better for all of you.

Ahh! Sibling Rivalry at it's best. They only do this to really bother moms. I think it's our own parents way of getting back at us. Just wait they will have kids themselves one day and you will be smiling again.

When I feel like I am mortified and going to lose it with my child I am always reminded of the time she almost died. I would rather have fifty million broken plant holders than a deceased child. Take a huge breath and let DH have some time while you destress.

((((hugs to you)))))

Awwww, I know how you feel, but kids will be kids...and some day you will look back on this and laugh with them about it. I am not making light of your feelings, honest. But after raising my son, who is now 34, that is a "small" thing to happen in their lives. Hang in there Mom.....

LightningCoach - you mentioned them having kids one day
DS is 7 & I told him once, "just wait one day you'll have kids & blah, blah, blah (whatever we were discussing @ the time)" & DS replied "Nope, not me, kids are too much trouble, I don't think I'll have any."

Funny comment coming out of a then 6 year old. I kinda laughed then I thought "Gee, I hope he changes his mind, I want grandkids one day."

I have two boys 8 and 10. I think Princess Diana said it best when talking about her boys. "They give each other permission to misbehave." I think that is so true. If my two aren't fighting, they are trying to crack each other up with rude noises, etc.

But they do love each other. If one of them gets, say, a candy bar. He will make sure he gets two so that he can bring one home to his brother. There is hope for them afterall. ;)
