We spent six days in the world and had a great time in spite of the heat and crowds.

The updated POTC is great; just enough changes to keep it fresh but not so much that they lost the original charm of the ride.

Soarin' was fun but I cannot understand waiting two hours in line for it, which is what the stand-by time was when we rode. We waited about 10 minutes with our fastpass. Seriously folks, get there early enough to get a fastpass - life is too short!

Everest; what an AWESOME ride! Just incredible. You gotta ride it - what else can I say?

We made use of morning emh on most days and did evening emh on two evenings at MGM and MK. Mornings are MUCH better crowd-wise. Evening emh at MGM was horrible. MK was not too bad.

We were able to do almost everything we wanted to do and many things we did more than once so I consider it a success but hopefully next time we will be able to go back during the first week in June when the crowds are more managable.

Any questions? I'll be glad to answer whatever I can!

Welcome back! I'm glad you had such a great time. How was the weather while you were there?

Sounds like you had a fabulous time. Summer turned out to be the best time we ever had last year. We leave in less than two weeks and I'm so excited.

Glad to here you had a wonderful trip :cheer2: ...We're excited to try everest when we go in Sept but I'm a little afraid of roller coasters. Would you say that Everest is a "rough" roller coaster?..Thanks

Glad to hear you had fun on your trip! We tried to get on Soarin in June and it was a 2 hour wait then also. Fastpasses were already gone by early afternoon, so guess you have to get there early for those! Welcome back!!!

As for the weather, our first day was Sunday, July 9 and the weather was not bad at all. Upper 80's to low 90's.
Monday was a little hotter but bearable (keep in mind that I'm from Texas!). Tuesday was hotter than hell by noon but then a storm rolled in and by the time it was over things had cooled down a lot and our evening at MK was great. As usual, most people didn't come back out after the storm so it was cooler AND less crowded; you can't beat that! :woohoo:
Wednesday was pretty much the same, except we did evening emh at MGM and the crowd was HUGE, like nothing I'd ever seen at this park!
Thursday and Friday: progressively hotter and no more rain :sad2:
All in all, hotter than June but not tremendously so. Not as much rain as we expected, though.

I would not classify Everest as "rough" at all. It is really pretty tame as far as coasters go but the theming and detail is incredible. It is NOT to be missed!

Hey there HunnyPots! It seems that our trips overlapped...we were there 7/10 - 7/14. I agree with you about the weather...hotter than all get outs!! And I'm from southern Illinois, where we get weather like you do in Texas...but boy, after the rain the humidity was unbearable!

I couldn't believe the wait times for Soarin' each time we went by there...50 mins. was the shortest standby time, but I think Splash Mountain at MK was worse...people trying to cool off, but on 7/14 it actually had a wait time of 100 mins. Holey moley! I think the park crowds were not as bad as I had anticipated...we tried to avoid the parks that had EMH in the morning and only used EMH at Epcot one night. Actually thought that Epcot was kinda empty on 7/8 and 7/9 when we were there.

I'm glad that you loved Expedition Everest! I agree with you that it isn't a rough coaster at all, but it just wasn't so great for me. It was a smooth ride with some great theming, but for me, it's just not the "thrill coaster" that people had talked about...without the backward part I don't think I would have cared for it at all...but we're all different and maybe I"ll enjoy it more the next time I ride it. My Dniece did love it!

Glad you had such fun! I think that heat is unbearable wherever you are!

I am going to miss out on Soarin' AGAIN on my next trip. We are only going to Epcot the afternoon we arrive and I know the FP will be gone ... so will have to leave that to next time. I am not sure why I missed it the first trip - tired by the time (last day) we got to Epcot and we got FP to Test Track instead. Oh well ... gotta plan more trips! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to catch Everest again. I loved it ... and being that it will be the second time I can look around more now that I know what it is like.
