"star service"? Do I ring when I check into the hotel?

We usually ring star service on the day we check-out.

Do I let the check-in know I am a platinum when I check in?

Yes, show them your card when you check-in. They usually ask you what gift you would like in the room and what newspaper.

Did you have a few of the parks or the gardens?

Sorry Garden View or Pool view!!

Our last visit was a pool view (5040), but I wouldn't worry too much about view's. There are no balconies at the HRH and every view, including garden views are usually ok. Generally, the lower the floor, the worse the view because the palm trees obscure the view on the first 3/4 floors.

Funnily enough I have asked for that room already, after your advice from months ago. When I booked the room I asked for 5040 - is that enough or would you recommend emailing or faxing a room request also?
