We just returned from 5 days at the World. I'll be on and off the computer today, but I'd love to answer any questions!

We stayed at the Contemporary tower facing Bay lake. The weather was very cold Saturday but nice the rest of our stay (Sunday - Wednesday). Wishes is phenomenal..don't miss it! Don't miss Mickey's Philharmagic either...very good! The crowds in January are virtually nonexistent. The only "line" we waited in was for Pirates. The people seemed to come and go....sometimes there were waits (10 minutes???) in Fantasyland and other times it was a ghost town. It got very hard to predict but really not bad at all.

Any questions???????????

Welcome back!

Did you see the Spectromagic parade? If so, how were the crowds for that? We saw it in May but the crowds were unbelievable and it kind of ruined the experiance. Hoping to catch it again with lower crowds this time.

How did you like the Cont. tower? Do you think it was worth the $$$?

Welcome Back! Glad you had a good time w/ great weather and low crowds.

Gosh I have so many! I am going in 2 weeks and haven't seen Wishes or Philharmonic yet and so can't wait to go to them. I will be bringing two little ones though and was wondering about the weather mostly. We will be bringing layers but I can only pack so much w/ all the diapers and formula and such. Did you get a chance to swim? My DS loves to swim. Did you go on the water mice. I was going to eat at CM at the Contemporary, then take him on the water mice. Did you eat the CG? Thanks!

Hi! I wrote a review of our Contemporary experience on the Resorts board if you want to read it. Overall I did not like the Contemporary....it was loud and not relaxing and very dirty. It is worth the money if the theming is to your style and if you want the walk to the MK. (which was great). For that much money I prefer the Poly. It is much more spacious and relaxing and clean and it is also very close to the MK!
We ate at Chef Mickey's, which my kids love. The food is O.K. for a buffet. The character interaction was good. We did not eat at the California Grill. We had PS, but we changed our plans and went to EPCOT instead. We plan on hitting the Grill on our next trip. I've heard nothing but great things about dinner there!

We did Spectromagic. We got a curb space easily 1/2 hour before the parade started. The crowds picked up after that for the parade, but no one was rude, just lots of close sitting:crowded: People really cleared out before Wishes, too, which surprised me, but it was very cold that night and the parade ended at least 1/2 hour before Wishes started. People stand to watch Wishes so if you have small kids go to the ice cream parlor on Main Street and stand on the street just outside of it. They line off the street for a crosswalk area just in front of that corner and small kids can see Wishes fairly well with no one directly in front of them. We ended up there just behind the line for the crosswalk and it worked out great!

We dressed in layers. Even though it got to 70 degrees 4 out of 5 of our days, the 70 is not a really warm 70 because it starts out at 40. We wore jeans, long sleeves (or short) and then a sweatshirt or light jacket which we layered off when it hit 65 around noon-time. The coats all went back on as soon as the sun started to dip around 4:00 - 5:00. Sometimes we put gloves on after that depending on what we were doing. We never wore shorts, but my boys did swim! They love to swim! The best plan is to have them do it in the afternoon when the temperature is the hottest (3:00) if it works in your schedule. We did not try the water mice, but my brother-in-law did that on his trip with my little niece (4 year old) and they liked it!

Welcome home!! No questions really but wanted to say that I enjoyed hearing about non-existant crowds!! I'm just hoping and praying that it's the same for us for our March 1st trip!

Thanks, TINKS, for the great news! Taking my SIL soon for a "Kid Free" vacation (to WDW? LOL) so we can be kids ourselves. She's never been before, so I've been hoping for at least marginally warm temps. (70s is great compared to 20s here) and LOW crowds. Yeah! Thanks for giving me hope that this will come true.

And, BTW, to any concerned: No cheerleaders, dance teams, or marathon races when we go! hoo hoo!
:hyper:  :jumping1: :cool1: :jumping4: :jumping3: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Tinks: Thanks so much for the answers. It sounds wonderful!

kbhehl: Guess I won't have any cheerleaders, etc. either since I am going in 15 days. Hope you have a marvelous time skipping thru the parks like 2 kids. I'll be the one skipping behind a double stroller w/ these 2 munchkins. See you there!

Disney Enthusiast: I'd love to see someone skipping with a double stroller! Kids would probably think that was the best ride!

Have Fun! I'm now doing the SD Dance--9 Days!
