Just arrived back yesterday from 17 amazing nights. Here are some brief highlights.
Weather was amazing, lovely and hot and only one day of rain.
Flew US Airways via philly for the first time. All went very smoothly. Long immigration q in philly meant we were rushed for the second leg but made it just in time. Would definitely fly with them again. On the return leg the first flight was supposed to be 2 hours 40 mins and was actually 1 hour 50 and the second leg was supposed to be over 7 hours and was just under 6! Great, and the service etc was really good.
Despite all the spring break warnings, the parks were so quiet. Didn't q for anything. I have some photos which I will try and upload showing the lack of people. I think if easter is late it is worth thinking about an early April trip. The day we had at the magic kingdom was busy but we still got everything done we wanted to.
Stayed one night at Universal for the quick que. This was amazing.Hotel was lovely and it was great not having to q for anything, but again it wasn't particularly busy anyway. Loved Universal.
Went up to Crystal River to swim with Manatees. This was just unbelievable. What an experience.
My daughter and I volunteered at Give Kids the World. This was a highlight of the trip and I encourage others to consider it if they have time.
Spent the last few days of our holiday in Tampa. Wow, what a beautiful place. We visited Winter the Dolphin, Clearwater beach, Fort de Soto, went on a dolphin cruise. It was an amazing way to end a busy holiday.
First time to Busch gardens, great park, great rides and again no q's for anything even this week in the run up to easter.
Sweet Tomatoes - YUM! We had a voucher for two adult and two kids including drinks for $24.99. We used this several times. Great value!
Only two small lows. Our last nights meal at a Golden Corral near Tampa was horrible, we did complain but they didn't really care. Also when a Seaworld a woman shoved me and my little one violently out the way in the q for the penguin ride. It was such a shock as you just don't expect it and I was really upset. Seaworld were great though and although we insisted we didn't want it they gave us loads of fast passes and booked us seats at all the shows. Perhaps worth being shoved again!! lol.
Wasn't to keen on legoland but will explain more if I do a trip report.
All in all the best holiday ever! So sad to be home, better start saving again!!
