I am a long time lurker but a first time poster. Thank you all for the great tips and hints as this really made my trip so successful. Here is some information that might be helpful based on some previous threads:
1. Weight restrictions on rides: I am a larger woman (I wear a size 18 pant), and I was able to ride everything. I rode HPTFJ, DD, and the Hulk in a modified seat, but I was able to fit in the regular seats on everything else. The only ride that was a tight squeeze was the Hulk.
2. Mardi Gras: What a fantastic event! The parade was amazing and I must have caught over 30 beads. I had so many I even gave some of them away. Definitely a must do if you are in the area. For a tip, if you watch the parade near the Hollywood Makeup show near Cafe La Bamba, you can run across the street and catch the parade again as it swings back around.
3. RPH: Had a fantastic stay at RPH. The staff were very nice and couldn't have gone more out of their way to make our stay more pleasant. The room was clean. As previously reported, the maid service did not come on our floor until late in the day (usually around 4:30 or 5pm). This was not an issue for me, but I can see how it would be an issue for others. Also, apparently the road leading to the hotel gets closed from 9pm to 4am on grad nights. I did not know this, and I got stuck driving around for an extra 20 minutes trying to get back to the resort.
