So we did the DxDDP for 7 nights.
The stand-out meals were California Grill, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Yak n Yeti, Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch), Kona Cafe. CRT (yes, I almost passed out from the shock!). These were all surprisingly good and the food was fresh and amazing.
The biggest disappointments of the trip were as follows:
*Pecos Bill's: What happened? We usually LOVE the burgers here. As soon as I set the tray down, my DH and I looked at each other and then at the burgers and wondered what was going on. These were not the fresh, amazing burgers we usually get. We walked through the rain to get gray, small, cafeteria steam-table burgers. YUCK! We'll try Tortuga Tavern next time.
*Narcoosee's: Amazing black bean and lobster soup and crab cakes. However, the entrees were disappointing. Cheap cuts of beef, and the lobster was rubbery. The desserts were boring at best. Not going to return next trip. NOT worth 2 TS.
*50's Prime Time: The appetizers were nasty with the exception of the onion rings. The shakes were good, as was the fried chicken and the desserts. However, the other entrees were boring and tasteless...especially the pot pie. May try CS next time at DHS.
We loved Yak and Yeti and will definitely return next trip...SO good. Same thing goes for Cali Grill and Kona. Liberty Tree Tavern is one we always do for the Toffee Cake, but it was especially good this trip, though the appetizer without the fried cheddar curds was not as good.
CRT had an amazing pork dish over a corn cake...called Pork Three Ways...and I wish I could make it at home. SO good. The appetizers were good and the tenderloin was good, too.
SO disappointed about Pecos Bill's...just sad to see that nasty burger and realize that we don't have a "go to" burger at WDW any more.
