Hi -

I really wasn't in the mood for a Disney trip this summer but, long story short, I lost the flip of the coin. So, I was off to 4 nights/5 days at DL/CA. We did it on short notice. I wish I'd planned ahead and gotten the specials at the onsite hotels. (But, I've let that go...LOL).

So, 3 days before departure, I booked a Get Away Today trip for 3 "adults" - me and my 14 & 18 year old sons: 4 nights at the Park Sheraton, included free parking, 3 adult 5 day Park Hoppers and a $100 gift card for use in their restaurants and bar: $970 which included tax and fees.

We'd always stayed on site on previous trips so I was a bit nervous about being so "far away". It really wasn't an issue. We bought ART 5 day passes and had pretty good luck with timing the busses when we needed them. We did walk on several occasions but it was no more than an easy 10 minute walk.

The room was clean and very comfy. They left free water bottles each day and there was a fridge for keeping drinks cold. We had a walk-out balcony with a great view of the fireworks that we took advantage of several nights.

For the price, I wouldn't think twice about staying here again. The staff was very accommodating. The $100 gift card equated to free breakfast each day plus a (very much needed) glass of chardonnay at the bar one evening!

It was an easy walk to Garden Walk so my teens were happy they got to indulge in a shrimp feast at Bubba Gumps one night!

We didn't do WOC because the best we could get last minute was the WCT 10ish show the night before leaving. But, we watched the wheel spin its colors from our balcony!!

Aladdin was fun - pretty much the same which makes it a classic - but with a few new jokes (Lady GaGa, JetBlue, etc) which made it worth standing in line for (again).

The most relaxing hour I had was taking a quick nap at the pool at the Sheraton which was very clean and comfortable! I'm a "swim mom" and have spent many, many hours around pools! Their pool was comfy!

All in all, we ended up having a great time and I'm glad I "lost" the coin toss!!!! HaHa EC - your loss!

Sounds like a magical trip. Sorry you didn't get to experience WOC, it is truly fabulous. I love the Sheraton Park, too. Their rooms are quite nice. Be grateful your parking was included. It's like $15 a day. I like their restaurant for breakfast - very good home cooked type meals. Thanks for sharing. :)
