Just wanted to post and relay that I was able to turn my split stay of 2 night AKV(value studio) 2 nights SSR(studio) into 4 nights at AKV while at the lodge.

Everyone at member services as well as at AKL were soo helpful, never got tired of me asking and checking. I was actually able to secure my 3rd night in the same value studio from the front desk, and while I was on the phone with member services they called over and got my 1 bed. value for me. I spent a couple more points but I felt it was worth it for me.

Also, wanted to post for us folks that HAD dedicated on our reservations I did get a savanna view for my studio. I also ended up getting a savanna view for my 1 bed but it was a lockoff.

*used Garden Grocer for about the 6th time same wonderful service

Okay enough of that just wanted to post as well that we visited Kidani LOVED it!! The comminity hall/room was very nice, the gal that runs the activities is in charge of Jambo as well and is soo sweet!! Lots of games to check out, pool table, video games and all with a savannah view!! If you want to save yourself a trip though the movie checkout is in the gift shop.

I'm sure everyone has heard about the pool and all the bells and whistles by now. I liked the fact that the hot tub was alot cooler than Jambo which was sooo hot.

We toured one of the rooms in a section of Kidani that is not open yet, it was handicapped accessible. Lots more room than I had anticipated.

Our CM that gave us a tour told us that you could see where the Grand Villa's were located from the savanna if you looked at the alcove in the roof line. She also told us they are located by elevators for any guest that would need to use an elevator to get to the upper levels.

We`had a lovely trip for a 4 night stay!! I tried to post what I thought wasn't mentioned, but if I can answer anything let me know!

Thanks for the review! We'll be there at the end of Sept / beg of Oct and are so excited!

Question for you: are there doors leading to the outside on the parking side throughout the resort? If I were to walk through the second floor toward Jambo, could I get out a door on the first floor when I get close? My youngest has some medical issues that cause muscle weakness so I'm trying to decide if we asked for a room toward Jambo if we could get to the Mara that way or if we'd have to walk back to the lobby and take the bus.

I'm not quite sure as we drove over and used a handicapped spot right in front of the building. I would think they would make it as easy as possible to get to that walkway. Will you have a car? My suggestion would be to use it if at all possible, if you needed to get back to Kidani in a timely fashion for your son the only bus that will take you back would be a Downtown Disney bus. I read on another thread that it took someone over 40 min.

I have a son with special needs who at WDW almost always ends up in his wheelchair and there is no way we could make that walk in 90-100 degree heat.

If someone can't provide you with that information (I tried to look it up on a map for you), call the resort directly and ask, they were VERY helpful especially at this time during their opening, then make your requests with member services.:wizard:
