I will add more as I think of it:
We had a wonderful wonderful WONDERFUL week!!! Stayed at POR, first room, Magnolia, did the bedcheck and found what appeared to be a couple of DEAD bedbugs in a crevice of the pillow top. There also appeared to be dried blood stains on the sides of the mattresses. I called and they directed me to the concierge for a new room, this time in Alligator Bayou, which is what I wanted anyways...did another mattress check and PERFECT! No problems, mattresses looked brand new actually. No bites or anything. But we did not use the drawers and propped both suitcases across the arms of the chairs.
POR is absolutely magically beautiful.
We did all the parks, including waterparks, plus Discovery Cove (most amazing day of my life) and a 1/2 day at Sea World. Lines were short! Crowds were manageable! Weather was HOT and MUGGY!!
No dreams were bestowed on us, but it was still a great time. Unforgettable, for sure.
A couple of things I am glad I took along, at the suggestion of a disboard poster:
scissors
sharpie
tylenol and advil
quarters/pennies in a mini-m&Ms tube for the penny press
flashlight for the bedbug check and also came in handy when DS had a sore throat. He had strep.
I am exhausted though. I will write more later.
