..mostly rambling.

Just came back from a six night AKV and a one night CSR stay. Overall, the trip went pretty smooth. Had a few hiccups here and there but nothing overall extreme.

I think after this trip my wife and I are officially off Disney in resort transportation. On our second full day we had breakfast at Akershus in Epcot for 8:10. We were at the bus stop at 6:45 for this, and the first Epcot bus didn’t come until 7:55. Four MK busses came during this time and three other busses came for each HS and AK. None for Epcot. This was even after three different drivers called into where ever they call into, stating a bus hadn’t come and we were waiting. We got to Akershus 15 minutes late and had no problem getting in, but still. I think from now on we will still take DME each way but rent a car from Alamo at Dolphin (Swan?). Other than that small problem the bus service was great, it just left a sour taste in my mouth over waiting an hour.

At first I thought FP+ was going to be a dud for us, but it turned out to be fantastic. Our first MK day (Wednesday 6th) we did Big Thunder and Splash Mountain and had a fireworks viewing for the third so we had to standby all the other rides we did. On our second MK day (Saturday 9th) we had all of our FPs for first thing in the morning and ended up have 18 FPs and went on a total of 22 rides before a 6:30pm Be Our Guest dinner and then not doing anything the rest of the night before the parade and fireworks. This was a record for us.

Did the Keys to the Kingdom tour again. While it was great, I do not think that I will do it again. Might do it again in another two or three trips. Thought that Behind the Seeds tour stunk to be honest. Went on the last tour of the day (4:30pm) and it was done by 5:35. Didn’t feel like I got my monies worth out of it.

Did the Deluxe Dining Plan and for the two of us it ran $1314.32, our total ended up being $1519.56. Would Tables in Wonderland have saved us more? Probably. But I like the convenience of the meals prepaid for.

Transferring resorts wasn’t a problem, but getting the luggage was. We were told at AKV that the bags would be in the room between 1 and 4pm (this was at 6:30am). We went over to CSR to check in about 12noon and were told the same thing. We got the text starting the room was ready and the number about 2:30pm. Had dinner and went to the resort about 6pm. No bags. Called and were told that, no they do not place them in the room for a resort change you have to call and be in the room for them to come. Not what I was told by two different people but ok fine, we are here now and they could bring them. 7:30pm rolls around and no bags. Called again (my mistake, should have done to bell services myself at this point) and could they bring them. 8pm finally comes around and I went and got them myself so we could swim.

Some bad things some good things. Hopefully going to go to Aulani May 2016. So we won’t be back to WDW until sometime in 2017 (trying to convince the wife to go in late October so we can do a Halloween party and hopefully Avatarland will be open by then, or part of it anyway).

That's too bad about the buses. It's very easy to rent a car at the airport and the drive isn't bad at all. It's nice to have it.

I had a similar bus issue ... my daughter and I left MK midday to go back for a swim (Beach Club, where my husband was with the car, not feeling well) and went to the bus stop around 1:30pm. We had several buses come and go (two for Swan & Dolphin/Boardwalk) before Beach Club came almost a half hour later. We always drive down, so we always just use our own car ... this was my first (and LAST) experience with the bus.

I woûld have hopped on any of those buses, such a short walk.

Quoting this just to see if I'm the only one who would have hopped the first bus I saw from Swolphin or Boardwalk and then just walked to Beach Club? Does anyone else who has happened to read this post do this? :)

I mean... besides the person who posted above me while I typed... saying they do the same thing... hmmmm. Go about your business everyone...

Had the same bus issue at Pop this week. Once waiting for the MK with a full line of people and no less than three Epcot buses came in that time. When we were in the Epcot line a couple days later and the MK bus line was overflowing, we just missed an Epcot bus and another one pulled up seconds later and we were the only group on it. It just didn't seem to make any sense at all.

We also loved FP+! Glad to hear most of your trip was good!

I do hope disney goes ahead with the bus time screen. If you have to wait an hour- so be it- but if you saw a screen that said the bus will be there at a certain time- it would be less frustrating than just waiting and hoping

I didn't know that they split the resorts up with busses! I've stayed Beach Club and all the resorts were on the same bus route

They split them up to MK only. For the other bus options, it's a shared route.

But how much would it add to your frustration to see that a bus is supposed to be there in 10 minutes -- and doesn't show for another hour?

I considered it. However, the night before I power walked from Epcot (International Gateway) to the Boardwalk because someone on here told me to go there to get the boat to DHS, and then the boat ended up going to S&D and then to the Beach Club (where my husband and daughter had walked to), so I just didn't feel confident in knowing where I was going if I went somewhere else ... it was my first time at the Beach Club, and my first time navigating the Disney transportation system so my confidence wasn't too high! (Grew up in Boston taking the T, you'd think I was better at this, but nooooooo)
