We were at the Yacht Club (my 15 year old son and I) from Sunday, Aug. 24 until Friday Aug. 29. The concierge floor was excellent. Housekeeping was very good and we got towel animals every day (my son was not as enchanted as I was by this). Room was very clean and everything was in working order. The lounge was very crowded on Monday morning but empty at all other times. My only complaint about the lounge is that people do tend to treat the lounge as their own personal living room. They enter without shoes or shirts, even though there is a sign stating that this is not acceptable. There seem to also be what I would refer to as the concierge "groupies". These are people who could always be found hanging around the concierge desks, not because they needed priority seating or anything else but just to chat (for hours) with the CMs. Now I realize that many people are just friendly but the CMs have a job to do and might not want to talk to guests for hours at a time. I know that many of you will respond negatively to my observations. This is just my opinion!!!
The only downside to having food available all day long in the lounge is that you feel compelled to eat all day long. We definitely ate more that we would have if we had a regular room. On the other hand, to me it is a great benefit to have coffee available at 7 am, especially at the Yacht and Beach club where there aren't too many fast food options. I would be happy to answer any questions.

Wow! Just what I wanted to hear. I just booked Y/C Concierge this morning for Christmas week and was curious how everything was going there. The reports from there can sometimes be hit or miss. I'm also glad to hear that you felt the food offerings were plentiful. We will definitely use the lounge in the mornings and perhaps in the evening. What about taking breakfast back to your room? I'd like to use our mornings eating and dressing at the same time...the kids eat while we dress and I can keep an eye on them.

I usually took coffee back to my room but my son brought just about everything back to the room. I also brought a glass of Kahlua back to the room every night. Many people did this and they have paper cups and plates for that purpose. The evening offerings varied greatly. The first night that we were there they had varioius cheeses, olives, crackers, various types of dips and hummus, uncrustables, and mac and cheese for the kids. Other nights they had a hot dish from either the Yachtsman steakhouse or from Cape May cafe. The CMs were very accomodating. One morning my son wanted Hot chocolate. The CM went into the back and came out with about a dozen. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Sorry, but I have a few more questions and right now, you're my go-to person.

Did you get the concierge to book any last minute PS's for you? Also, did they have water to go in plastic bottles? And did you feel they had ample offerings regardless of the serving time frames you were there? Or was it picked over and not replenished.

I think that's it for now.

Thank you!

Vicki

Did they still have the beer??? When we read the YC had beer my DH was more excited about this trip then ever before. I'm hoping they keep it until our trip in Jan.

They did not have beer or water in plastic bottles. They did always have out a large bottle of Perrier. This is the one thing that I didn't like. The Polynesian concierge always had water bottles available during our last trip.

The only day that I noticed that not everything was replenished was on Sunday afternoon. They ran out of cookies and did not replenish the supply. We didn't ask for more so I don't know if they would have brought more out if we had asked. Also, the lounge was extremely crowded on Monday morning for breakfast and was never crowded after that. I suspect that the resort was full and that many people checked out after Monday.
The CMs could always be seen running in and out of the lounge with more food and drink. I think that they were very good about refilling whenever they could.
Regarding Priority seating, I had called several weeks ahead for PS and the itinerary that they printed out for me at check in had all of them listed. However, I did not make any last minute PS.
Hope this helps. I would be happy to answer any additional questions.

We returned from the Yacht Club last week. They do have beer, you just have to ask for it. They had Bud and a light beer (I don't remember what it was) available when we were there. They also had large glass bottles of water to take back to your room.
