Just back WL - upgraded Standard to Courtyard

We arrived at WL August 11 around 12:15. We checked our bags and I went to check in and was told our room was ready!! CM told me we had a courtyard view (I had booked standard). We got room 2023 which you reach by taking the elevator next to Roaring Forks. We had a view of the pool and walkways - very nice. Laying in bed with the curtain opened you could see Artist Point. This was a very convenient location for us. There was a towel shaped like a Mickey head on the bed when we arrived and we received 3 towel animals throughout the week.

Lucky you! I hope we get as lucky in January. How did you like the Wilderness Lodge? How was the transportation to the various parks? We have never stayed there, but are planning to in January.

We love WL! We didn't use the transportation alot because we had to rent a car since we flew into Sanford. It was just easier to use the car because we had a VIP parking pass from AAA and could park close to the gates at the parks. Also it was crowded while we were there so we knew we could have longer waits. We used the boat to MK which is really nice. It stops WL, MK then FW. We took the bus to EPCOT one day and it stopped at FW first but on the way back it stops at WL first. Last time when we went the end of September we used the transportation more.

Awesome..sounds fun! We've got a Woodsview room at the WL booked for our honeymoon right now. Got a AAA rate, I'm hoping to get a better rate soon and maybe upgrade...keep your fingers crossed.

Same thing happened to us in July...except we were on the exact opposite side as you but with a view of the pool and geyser.

Congrats! We booked a woodsview because there wasn't any courtyard views available when we booked though AAA. I'm hoping for an upgrade to courtyard!

It seems that quite a few folks get upgraded from a woods view to a courtyard. Since i already have a courtyard view booked (this was my only option), i wonder what the chances are of getting an upgrade to say, Concierge or a suite??? I know, its a pipe dream but a girl can wish, ya know?? Has this happened to any lucky family here on the Dis? Just wondering....

Just returned from the WL and yes, we were upgraded from Courtyard bunks to Concierge bunks. A LOVELY surprise!!! We were only staying four nights/five days.

Wow. that is a great upgrade!! Maybe we will get a little pixie dust on our trip to WL!

We have a Woodsview with Bunks scheduled...wouldn't mind the concierge upgrade! Wishful thinking!
