10-23-05 part 3

As we were walking this guy asked us if we want to be part of a preview for a show that the VIP's needed to know the answer by today to see if it would be put on the air. We said sure and said it was supposed to be some clips. AN HOUR LATER, we get our 30.00 (yes we got paid 15.00 each) and I stated that I would never get that hour back ever. It is a show called Party Party. About 2 different famalies throwing parties for their spoiled children. Now really who is going to say they have a budget for this party for 10,000.00? I know if I got 10 grand, it's not going to some party. Needless to say we had controllers that we had in each hand, red for what you don't like and green for what you do like. Needless to say, I was just pushing buttons not even half way through this crap. :)
So Note to one self...do not get trapped into watching this.

After our hour we will not get back, we went on Twister. This was cool. I now know if I am in a twister and standing that close, that I surely will not be standing there. Poor cows. Let's take a moment of silence. Moo. Ok moving on.

Pac-Man decided he needed to pose for a picture.

We made it to Jaws. Now that is me sad. Why? Cause they closed the ride for refurbishment. Why close things when you know it will bring people in. How much refurbishment does Jaws need?

Me and Pac-Man had to at least get our pictures taking with Jaws.

Jaws is really huge.

We decided to head back and see Beetle Juice.Yep this is more adult than Disney. Not too bad. It's funny. It's more of a music show. Pretty cool.
After passing Jaws there was a show going on.

I would have done it, but you have to be picked. Bummer.

Back to the Future ride was cool. Kind of a long pre show, but it was cool.

Yes E.T. We all cried watching this movie. Riding it was fun. When you enter it, there is a person asking for your name. You give it to them and recieve a card. Not even 20 seconds later (depending on the line) you give your card away. Me and Misty were saying ok to each other. You ride this ride on bikes. Kind of like how the Peter Pan ride is in boats. You get to go to E.T.'s home planet. At the end, and some of you are asking what is with the cards. Well E.T. would like to thank everyone for helping him and he does so by saying your name. Hence the cards.

Walking down the street, Marilyn Monroe decided to get Pac-Man and take a picture. She asked me if I have been to the Pac-Man cafe in Orlando.

Next Popeye decided to try and feed Pac-Man some spinach.

Pac-Man on the Delorian. He is happy.

Next we decided to go on the MIB ride. This is like the Buzz Light Year ride, but 6 people are riding and you don't control your vehicle. Plus your competing against the other vehicle and at the end, if you loose, Wil Smith will make fun of you. Lol. ***Just a note. You cannot take any bags of any kind on MIB. You have to put them in lockers. They are free, and you lock them and unlock them by your finger prints. Nifty idea.

Check out those clouds...

As we were leaving I decided to take some night shots with US lit up.

Thanx Universal. We had a blast.

***Just a note. Remember when I said we bought the 2 day 2 park tickets with the 3rd free. Well we decided to goto guest services and let them know we just wanted the 2 park 1 day tickets. They were more than happy to help out and we got the difference back. As we were leaving, it started to rain. We decided we were hungry and drove straight to DTD and got Earl of Sandwich to take back to our room. It was raining pretty hard. Now here is a science lesson for everyone. What happens when you have food in a paper bag and mix that with rain? Yes the bag broke. So needless to say I was running to the car with food in my arms. Luckily we parked close. :rotfl2:

Part 5 coming...we meet Wilma and go to Disney.. :goodvibes

Awesome pics! Loved the Pac-Man plush, and the characters' interaction with the toy. Last I heard, the Pac-Man Cafe was shut down, and all I got was a T-shirt. Too bad, I enjoyed the place, and so did my nephew. :)

Splendid Good Pac-Man Is Be!

Really, cause we picked up a I love Orlando mag with different stuff to do and see and it was listed. What was the Pac Man cafe like?

It was cute. The restauarant on the first floor was flanked by two classic arcade areas: The Pac-Man Museum on one side, which had most of the Pac-Man games with displays of various Pac-Man merchandise, and other classic games on the other side. I could count at least 4 or 5 Ms Pac/Galaga combo machines in that place alone. :) The second level was all modern arcade machines which I have no idea how they worked. I even tried one with IR guns, and mine didn't work. There went my $1.50 :(

The restaurant itself was a cute place. It's typical diner menu with fancy names. Sandwiches are named after the Pac-Man characters. The TV Monitors over the bar played Pac-Man cartoons, obviously recorded from Boomerang. The best part was the dessert. Where else in Orlando would you get Power Pellets for dessert? (it was a white chocolate mousse dessert in half of a white candy shell)

Overall, the Pac-Man Cafe was a cute place to take the kids. They will love the colorful character theming even if they don't remember Pac-Man (Mom & Dad may). The kids liked the restaurant, the older kids liked the modern games, and the aduls liked the classic games because it reminded them of their youth. Me, I just like Pac-Man.

Of course, now when you try to get the Pac-Man Cafe website, you are treated to Namco Cybertainment's website. The only thing that comes close to the Pac-Man Cafe is their WonderPark in Cincinatti, which if you as me looks like something knocked off of Chuck E. Cheese.

Ahhhhhhh I hear ya. I appreciate you responding back....I finally finished the trip report and had to link them to my signature so people wouldn't have to search for them. You might enjoy the last report...lol

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

When we went to Epcot in 2000, my 12 yr ds wanted to see Slime Time Live, so bad. He thought he realy had a chance to get on the show. Found out that contestant were picked 1st thing in the morning. We got in the show, waiting almost an hour to get seating and the show took 2 hours. 3-5 p.m. what a waste of time and park ticket money. Universal shut at 7:00 p.m. I advise people all the time to not waste their day going to live shows unless you happen to be participants.
