First I want to thank everyone that posts knowledge on these boards. I have learned a lot over the past few years!!

We just returned from an 8 day stat at Coronado Springs (great hotel, but will go back to Caribean Beach next year!).

The only comment I wanted to make right away was about our experience at Mama Melrose...or should I say lack of experience. We had Fantasmic ressies for 4:50 on August 23rd. Around 4 it started downpouring and continued for quite some time. Apparently because of the rain the people already seated at the restaurant decided to stay and stay and stay....thus making the wait almost two hours for our reservation. Seriously?! It rains in Disney in August...get up and get over it! It is very irritating to think my family missed out on that great dinner because of selfish people.

Other than that our trip was very nice and we had some great experiences. The manager (Darlene) at Whispering Canyon made our family feel so special!! Whispering Canyon will be an annual event for us because of her amazing service!

princesssunshine320: WE WILL BE STAYING AT cbr for the first time in a few weeks....what did you like about it vrs CSR? sorry the rain made it hard for your dinner ( did you eat there at all or?)

Hi! No we didn't end up eating there...we were all soaked and I was irritated. We headed back to the hotel and had a great meal at the Maya Grill! I would highly recommend trying it! :)

As for CBR...we LOVED it there. First, we thought the pool was fabulous there. CSR has a very nice pool, however the shallowest part was still 3ft which was a bit to high for my 5 year old. CBR has a zero entry pool, with a great slide, and a fun little kiddie area with water slides for the little ones. We also liked the QS food options far better at CBR. We were not happy with the food at QS at CSR. The bus service from CSR was also not good...we waited over an hour for a Hollywood Studios bus (same day as the Mama Melrose fiasco!) I would be happy to answer any other questions about our trips if it would help you out! :)

We had the same thing happen, except our reservation was earlier. When we got there it had pretty much started raining. They were already backed up and we were told our wait time would be about 40 minutes. It turned out to be more like an hour. We did wait, but IMO you didn't miss all that much.

We just switched our reservations from Coronado Springs to Caribbean Beach to take advantage of free dining. glad to hear abou the pool, we have a little one who will turn two on our trip. Sounds like the pool at CSR would not have been good for us! I was all set for CSR, so a little leary about CBR. I haven't heard a ton about it, so glad to hear some great positives from you!

Something similar happened to us at 50's Prime Time last December. Since ti was a really cold evening, people were lingering way too long. We had to wait an hour and an half to get seated for our 4:30 ADR. Needless to say we missed Fantasmic that night.

I did ask the waitress why everything was backed up and she explained to us what was happening. She also said they aren't allowed to say anything to people. She had one table that continued to sit at their table for 2 hours after finishing their meal. She said she hinted to them that they should leave after cleaning off the table and suggesting to them it would be a good time to ride TSM.
