...when she was 2 years old.
Our DD earned hers last May in MGM. We always call in to the Animation building shop and chat with a Cel Artist, David Rippburger (he's wonderful BTW). We first met him on a trip in 1997 (then childless!). I would love to be a cel artist, so really enjoy watching him work.
Natty begins watching David work too, and he asks her if she enjoys painting (well what 2 year old doesn't!). He asks Natty if she would like to try painting a cel (at this point I am about to burst!!!). Natty nods her cute little curly head, and David takes her round to his side of the light box, sits her up on his chair, choses a fresh cel and gives Natty a paintbrush with paint!! Wow.
She does a great job. David asks her to paint Mickey's ears, shoes and cane. After painting his nose (Mickey

, not Davids!) Natty gives him eyebrows......David laughs that he's never seen Mickey look that way.
I am crying with pride (and maybe feeling a little jealous LOL).
David apologises that due to copyright, Natty can't take the cel, but he completes a Magical Moment Certificate. Natty is Cel Artist for the day - and she's only 2 - WOW.
So, what a magical moment for us all. And Natasha has her certificate signed by a Disney cel Artist too. I have a wonderful photo that I would add.....but I can't figure out how this is done!!!
