Just back with 3 "Magical Moments" certificates!

I don't know, but my 31 year old boyfriend just read this and informed me he wants to be "Viking of the Day" :earsboy:

Go for it!! It's all about having fun!!

I think those certificates are a cute idea. :) We give them out at Pocahontas and her Forest Friends over at AK. We pick 2 kids to help start the show and occassionally a third to help pass out tissue paper leaves before the show. The best way to get picked for that is to be first in line as we usually approach the first kids we see.

I love the "best prepared for a 2 wk safari" story! lol! I did something similar last week. I saw a Bitty Baby doll sitting in one of the strollers parked outside Lion King so I took a piece of paper and quickly scribbled "Bitty Baby says 'Wah, I wanna see Lion King show too!" and stuck it in the doll's hand. Unfortunately, I wasn't around when the family retrieved their stroller so I didn't get to see their reaction.

Do they also have these in Disneyland? I would love to get one for my daughter-what can I do to get one?

My sister blew the whistle on riverboat and they gave her one. Just go up to the steering house and ask the "captain" to do it.

I also got one at innoventions while on the undiscovered future world tour. It was in the house of tomorrow and I was picked to ride this weird exercise bike of the future.

On a trip with my daughter & Mom, we were in the Disney Marketplace and my daughter was asked to be the "Cotton Candy Kid"

She was taken into the big food/cooking store that used to be there (it may still be)......Then they put a hat on her & announced that she was the Cotton Candy Kid to all of the customers.

She also got to make the first bag of cotton candy for the day & when they learned that we were headed back to Tampa that morning, they gave her 3 bags of cotton candy & a certificate.

I can honestly say that I've never seen my daughter more embarrassed, but she'll always remember the fun!

We also received a certificate for being flag family at the WL.....That was an experience!

Hahaha. :teeth:

I'm sure I will wind up with about 50 pictures of him on the Viking ship in Norway and likely, we'll end up with a Viking Hat, a Pirate hat, an Indiana Jones hat and a safari hat. Oh, and a cowboy hat when we go to Frontierland...and I don't even know what we'll wind up with when we go to Medieval Times a bit later in the week....a suit of armor maybe? It's kind of like traveling with a small child ;)

But it sure is fun!

:)

21 hours and counting...

You're why we all love coming to Disney...the extra magic! I'm sure you made their trip.

Gotta love the CMs!!!

Wow, I cant believe all the responses I've gotten. Thank's for sharing all the great "Magical Moments" everyone! It puts a smile on my face reading them all.:D

We got one for being on the first Kilamanjaro Safari of the day at AK. We were the second family at the gate for the opening. We knew we wanted to do KS first so we headed that way, along with a group of about 10 other people we didn't know. There was a guide leading the way, stopping to point out things of interest. I thought we got stuck in a tour group! We eventually got to KS and were the firt riders of the day. The guide went on the safari with us and really played it up. They gave us a KS fastpass with no time expiration so we could ride again later. The safari was great! They stopped many times and we got some awesome pics. When it was over, each family got a certificate. We did the ride again later, but it was just the normal ride. Not as personal as being in the first group.

My 2 boys got one last year for listening to a cast member in France read a story both in english and then in french. Most of the kids weren't terribly interested, but ours asked a few questions about the story and were rewarded with a certificate which was very nice.

My mother in law got one when we had a birthday cake delivered to our room.

MsLefty I was wondering if the guide was a Disney employee and that was what they do for the first ride of the day or was it really just some private tour group leader?

...when she was 2 years old.princess:

Our DD earned hers last May in MGM. We always call in to the Animation building shop and chat with a Cel Artist, David Rippburger (he's wonderful BTW). We first met him on a trip in 1997 (then childless!). I would love to be a cel artist, so really enjoy watching him work.

Natty begins watching David work too, and he asks her if she enjoys painting (well what 2 year old doesn't!). He asks Natty if she would like to try painting a cel (at this point I am about to burst!!!). Natty nods her cute little curly head, and David takes her round to his side of the light box, sits her up on his chair, choses a fresh cel and gives Natty a paintbrush with paint!! Wow.

She does a great job. David asks her to paint Mickey's ears, shoes and cane. After painting his nose (Mickey
::MickeyMo , not Davids!) Natty gives him eyebrows......David laughs that he's never seen Mickey look that way.

I am crying with pride (and maybe feeling a little jealous LOL).

David apologises that due to copyright, Natty can't take the cel, but he completes a Magical Moment Certificate. Natty is Cel Artist for the day - and she's only 2 - WOW. :earseek:

So, what a magical moment for us all. And Natasha has her certificate signed by a Disney cel Artist too. I have a wonderful photo that I would add.....but I can't figure out how this is done!!!

We had a PS time of 4:05pm for dinner but had checked in early!!! I'm thinking it was around 3:40pm. When we checked in we asked about being the "Bell Family". I had only read about it on these boards but wasn't sure what to expect.

First we were taken around the corner out of sight and there was ALL the characters for the night...(Minnie, Meeko, Chip & Dale is all I can remember right now) We got to get photo's with the whole gang!! I think that was the best part. They then followed us upstairs to the landing were our name was anounced. I was given a large bell and had to ring it three times and yell out..."Here e here e let freedom ring!"

What we did was basically open the restaurant for dining for the evening. It was just one of the many things that made our trip so great!
We have taken our GS (11) to WDW for the last 2 years, two yrs ago was the first time GS had ever been to disney and we were chosen to be the Bell Family, it was also the first time he had seen any of the characters so it was really special when they all came out at once and we had our picture taken with them. Also a CM used our camera and took pictures of us on the balcony with all the characters.
Last year we just had to eat at LTT again since our first time there was so special. Before our ps I explained to GS not to expect to be picked again & how lucky we were to be chosen the first time, just enjoy the characters and restaurant. We were all stunned when we were chosen again.
I'm so glad that GS will always have the memory of his first time of seeing any characters was at LTT and spending a few moments alone with all of them. To make a long story short, the first year we took him we had gotten to disney the afternoon before and had park hoppers, so not to use a whole day admission we rode the monorail around the first evening then GS said he wasn't feeling well. We spent 5 hrs at the local clinic and found out he had a upper respiratory infection, got him some antibiotics. We didn't leave the resort till the next afternoon till he started feeling better. Went straight to our p.s. at LTT.

We had a very magical moment in 1999, but we didn't get a certificate...no matter (maybe they weren't doing those then?). We walked into the Crystal Palace for lunch and were asked if my eldest dd(then 4) would like to "decorate a brownie with Pooh and friends." Well, of course, she said yes. The next thing we know, we were surrounded by Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Piglet, and the chef. They brought her a little hat that said "Chef of the Day" and it was signed by all of the characters...still have it! I have lots of beautiful pictures of it! Unfortunately, my DH missed us being asked as we walked through the door, and he had already walked to our table with video camera!

Our kids got one for introducing the British Invasion band. I felt sorry for the poor British girl, we were the only kids there and she had to beg, and beg and beg. My kids always say no, they don't like to be the center of attention. Finally I said to her -- bribery might help, so she took them into the store and let them pick out a chocolate bar. Then they came out and took the microphone. I have a picture of her bending over and pleeeading with them.

Well, we did'nt get this one from the parks but DD did get one from the DisneyCruiseLine because of a special Diser here who went on a cruise recently. Our DD had her pins and lanyard taken from Chef Mickey's---we accidentally left it hanging on the back of our chair and within a half an hour after leaving for the airport to go home we realized it and called and they said they did'nt see it anywhere. So to make a long story short with alot of phone calls to the resort and parks and no luck ever getting it returned some very special Disers here chipped in and have sent pins to our DD:) One of the Disers Scratch42 recently went on a cruise and was going to try and get a Steamboat Willie pin to replace one of DD's original pins that was lost and when she mentioned to the CM about what had happened to our DD they sent her home with a Magical Memories certificate with DD's name typed on it saying "With a little bit of pixie dust we send this gift to you from all your friends at The Disney Magic!" And not only the certificate but also 12 pins from the cast members and a Magical Memories button too!!!:sunny: That most certainly was a very "Magical Moment when we recieved it in the mail!!!!:hyper:

DD also got the one for waking up Tinkerbell on our last trip and almost forgot about the one she got 3 yrs ago when we were exiting the Pooh ride---one of the CM's asked if our DD--3 yrs old at that time would like to join in a little dance to pooh music with some other children--they all got a certificate and a Pooh sucker afterwards!

This thread has made me dig out the old Magical Moment certificate that was given to my DD in 2001. The old show in the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon used to have a magician and she got one for being the Magician's Assistant. Since they no longer perform that same show and since her certificate has the 100 Years of Magic instead of Tinkerbell, I guess it's quite a keepsake. Seeing the other opportunities makes me hopeful of another one on our upcoming trip. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

My DH received a cert. for being VETERAN OF THE DAY in Dec. It was really cool. He participated in the flag lowering ceremony at MK. I was so surprised because normally he shies away from attention. We were very proud of him! He got a certificate and a free photo. They announced his name and everything. Too cool!

In Aug 2003 DD opened Toon Town and got a personal tour from Mickey Mouse! She got a photo and a certificate, too. It was her 5th Birthday and that made it extra special.

How many of you have had this excitement? My youngest son was chosen by Merlin last summer to pull the sword from the stone in front of Cinderella's Carousel. We were really trying to get my middle child picked, but it was the little one who caught Merlin's eye. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen! When he pulled the sword he was sooo proud because we had been talking it up quite a bit-- thinking the other boy would love it. But when Merlin wanted him to wear the crown, etc, Brendan would have NOTHING
