We just got back last night and we have solved the bad tasting water problem. We purchased the Bobble Water Bottle from the Container Store for $9.99. The have a built in filter which worked great! We used them with the free ice water, though pouring the cubes through the opening was tricky, as well as the water fountains and the water tasted great in both situations.
I found them right before we left but hated to post till I know they worked. The bottles are very light weight and fit perfect in the mesh pockets on the side of the backpack. While 10 bucks might be high for a water bottle, I think it was worth it. Any questions?

We tried this for our last two trips. They work GREAT! The filter cartrage lasts quite a while too....we didn't need to replace it during our week-long trips....definitely worth the $10 price tag.

Sounds like to much work why not just but bottled water.

It is no work at all. All you do is refill the bottle at any fountain and the filter filters out any impurities/bad taste. I do not like to bring water bottles(prefilled ones) because it is more weight in my backpack(carrying multiple full bottles) and it is bad for the environment discarding a plastic bottle every time it is used instead of refilling it and using it again. One of these filtered bottle filters will clean enough water to equal 300 prefilled bottles.

Here is the bottle we have:

You can get them at Canadian tire here in Canada.

Take care!

We tried doing this same thing on our first trip and found that many of the water fountains were in direct sunlight and the water was actually hot. We ended up spending a fortune on cold bottled water from the parks. We have since brought in our own chilled/frozen water. Yes, it is heavy at first but having it cold all day was wonderful. Plus we saved a lot of money. Oh, and Disney recycles plastic you just have to use the correct trash bin.

Thank you so much for the tip! We are lucky to have great tasting tap water here and use reusable water bottles. However, I have heard bad things about the WDW water taste. I will have to give these a try! It will be better than carrying around full water bottles. Plus, everyone can have a different color, so we can keep track of bottles!

If you want cold water, but don't want to carry lots of bottles with you, you can ask for a free cup of cold water from many of the stands around the World. You can then use one of the Bobble bottles to improve the taste.

I used a product similar to this many years ago and I loved it. I never filled it up at a water fountain. Instead I just got a free cup of ice water at any quick service restaurant and poured it into the bottle and I was good to go for another couple of hours. I went through 3 to 4 bottles a day so it was definitely a better option than carrying a bunch of water bottles. It was also a huge savings over purchasing bottled water at the parks.
I forget who manufactured the bottle I used many years ago but I know they discontinued the product soon after my trip. It’s great to hear they’re back.
Thanks for posting this information!!
:)

Where is The Container Store? Do they have an online site?

We had 6 people in our group and each drank at least 4 bottles of water a day. That is a little out of our budget.

You can freeze some water in the bottom of the bottle to start off the morning, then add water from the fountains. But by the afternoon the ice was gone so we just got the cold water from CS and poured in it.

We've used a Brita water for several years. It has saved us a ton of money. We usually will get water from CS places, or a lot of times just ice and let it melt. We've also used the water fountains, the water is never cold but it's at least cool. I don't like bringing my own water in the parks, I would think being in a backpack in 95 degree weather it would get hot.

LOL, you always have a funny. :lmao:

Great tip, vt. :thumbsup2 I have always used the Brita bottle, though they do not make it any more. Thankfully I had purchased a good supply of filters for future trips. The filter water bottles are great, save soooo much money. And no more work than standing in line to pay for a Disney water bottle at 2-3 bucks a shot.

lol I just don't like complicated things but from what they described it sounds rather easy.

Thanks soo much for this tip! I've heard of filtering water bottles, but haven't seen any. My husband and I are going in September and I was concerned about how we would be hydrating ourselves without having to waste so many bottles and money! This is perfect..:thumbsup2

They are also on sale at JC Penney online only. I used the code "dadrocks" at checkout and saved $10, so it was $15 with shipping for a two-pack (I think...)

We use Camelbak's and we freeze the bladders the night before...keeps your back cool, you stay hydrated and can carry a bunch of stuff in the CamelBak® M.U.L.E.™ Hydration Pack we refill with water from our resort using a Britta filter that we bring and install on the tap in the kitchen....talk about Semper Paratus

Great find! I wish I would have ordered from JCP, they have more colors available.
